Not giving up on losing weight

hi Vintage Girl
you have took the words out of my mouth i cannot eat treats like sweets chocolate biscuits i would not be able to just have one so i just do not have them i use them for food

i'm the same if i buy S.W, bars i think 1 then before i know its all the lot gone so i do not buy them would rather have my food lololol and i do love fruit and veg x x x

lolol me and you susie could write a book lolol but we like to keep the others company thats what i keep saying lololol

It always made me smile in SW class when people would get weighed in and then rip into their Hifi bars - at least I had the decency to wait until I got home haha! :D :D

hahahhahah there is one girl gets weighed then sits there and eats 6 in one go honest i laugh and she buys 6 boxes a week lololol i stopped i was a swine i walk out the door and come to big mama lololololol :p:eek::oops::rolleyes:o_O

There seems to be a compulsion to buy the bars and the books - but if you want something sweet just syn a choc bar, and the books are a bit redundant now, with so many recipes online.

Oops been a while since I have been in here, better blow the cobwebs away and give the place a quick dust lol :D

Well have stayed on plan and carried on being a loser in the nicest sense of the word. Got my 13st award yesterday so not an unlucky number for me on this occasion!

Have noticed my body is very random with losses, sometimes I just lose half a pound and other times like this week I have a bonkers loss of half a stone. I can't even see a pattern with anything hormonal so just don't get it. Aah well as long as things keep moving I'm a happy woman.

Bye for now guys xx

Hi Ellie, just reading through your thread and WOW what an amazing job you're doing

How are things going now?

Good Morning Everyone :)

Today is my Slimming World 1 year anniversary :winner: When I stood on the scales one year ago today and saw the figure 30st 3lbs come up and realised I would have to lose 18st 10lbs to get my 11 1/2 st target I have to be honest I thought I had no bloody chance. Frankly it was an inconceivable amount of weight to lose and at that point I didn't even entertain the idea that it was possible. So although I set a target weight, in my head I was really just thinking to give it a go for as long as I could and lose what I could for however long I last. I thought at best I would stay on plan for a few months and lose maybe 4 or 5 st or even, as often happens with my diets have given up by lunch time of day 1 haha :D

Fast forward 1 year and I stood on the scales this morning and the figure 15st 10lbs came up, meaning I have lost exactly 14 1/2 st since I started yay !!:sw203:

Yes I still have 4st and 3lbs to go but I actually believe I can get there now. I have stayed on plan every single day, started gentle exercising once I had lost about 6st and am about a week away from getting my platinum body magic award. I haven't set foot in a gym, exercise class or started running etc but I have started doing a lot of walking and using a cross trainer at home. I was only able to squeeze into the loosest fit size 32 clothes but am now a comfortable size 18 and able to buy clothes in most shops which is a novelty for me. My boobs have gone from a G cup to a D cup and still shrinking. My bank balance is shrinking too from having to buy new clothes and underwear lol

Some non scale victories too, like buying a new car in Feb and not having the usual anxiety I have when getting another car about whether I will be able to fit behind steering wheel and get the seatbelt done up. I guess these are things that 'normal' sized people take for granted but when you have been really big for a long time that kind of thing can be really stressful, not to mention incredibly embarrassing when it turns out you just can't fit!

Anyway enough of my rambling, suffice to say I am a happy woman today and fingers crossed I can get to target by the end Year 2 or even better by the end of 2017 :)

Hope everyone else is having a good day. Take care and bye for now

Hi Ellie, just reading through your thread and WOW what an amazing job you're doing

How are things going now?

Hi Claire,

Thank you very much, I'm still going strong for the time being, got my 14 1/2 stone award today which is also my one year anniversary with Slimming World so feeling happy :)

How are things going for you?

Wow Ellie what an amazing achivement!!! Keep going girl! Almost 50% loss is staggering

I los 9st in an 18 month period 2014-2016, then fell, pregnant and now my baby is 3 months old, so I'm back here having regained about 4 stone of my loss, but back in the wagon!

Hi everyone,

It's been a long time since I have been here. Can't believe how quickly this year is going. I am still on the diet wagon and have lost nearly a further 2 stone since I was last here taking my current weight to 13st 11lbs. That 11 1/2 stone target is getting closer :). Am not doing anything different in terms of diet but have further increased the amount of walking I do and invested in a rebounder to use at home. I am sure the neighbor in the flat downstairs just loves me using that haha .

Wasn't sure whether to post a separate thread or just ask the question here but I have a query

I was wondering if anyone else here has lost a lot of weight or knows someone who has and has been left with a lot of loose skin. Obviously I knew I would have a lot of loose skin if I lost weight and I wasn't wrong but tbh hadn't anticipated just how much or how much of my body it would be on. As well as loose skin in the more common places like stomach, arms etc I have it pretty much all down my legs, bum, boobs and even my ankles!! And I still have more than 2 stone left to lose. I am delighted that I have lost so much weight and am trying not to let it get me down but it does bother me that I feel like I still have to cover everything up head to toe because it looks so bad and wondered if anyone else has experienced this and if it improves at all with exercise and time if you maintain your loss? Or if anyone knows if loose skin removal is available as an NHS operation? I have googled this but seems to be some conflicting information.

Cheers

Ellie xx

Hi Ellie

Well done on your fab losses! Can't help you on the loose skin I'm afraid, I've never got to that stage - but a friend who did, said she did notice shrink slowly (over a few years), and I think she was taking collagen tablets to help the skin's elasticity. I have googled about ops for loose skin, and it does sound a bit scary - but best to talk to a specialist about it?

You've done so well on SW - any tips?
