My Diary.... on the road to fabulous at 40.

I've been here for a while now and thought I should start a diary to help keep me on the straight and narrow.

Just a little bit about myself. I am a serial dieter......lol. Have been on and off diets since I was 16 and I am now 37 and still battling with the same issues/weight problems.

Joined WW in the middle of October last year and have been taking Orlistat since November. Have lost 33.5 pounds so far.......many more to go.

I am feeling quite committed to staying on this journey but at times i feel very disheartened and often wonder if this time it will all click for me.

I agree - people just don't realise how hard it is. One of my friends said to me - why don't you just eat less? If only it was so simple.

I've had a hard week this week. My father in law died suddenly on Wednesday and my eating plan has fallen by the wayside. Trying to get back on track but its hard.

So sorry about your father in law. Massive hugs Sarah.

I completely agree about people not understanding. A friend of mine started xen & after 2 weeks had managed to gain 1.5lbs & gave up. She said to me "I saw you doing it & though it must be easy". Made me really mad at the time as its anything but easy. Xen may stop you eating the things you know you shouldn't but it doesn't stop you wanting those things, if only!!!!!

We are all here to support you on your journey, you've done brilliantly up to now. Onwards & downwards x

So sorry to hear about your father in law. But well done for still coming on here, everyone is here to support you and each other in anyway possible! Life is good at throwing things at us and its not always possible to control everything at the same time. its perfectly understandable that food hasnt been a priority given whats happened but when you feel ready again it will come back, and we'll be here to help. And no it is soooooo not easy! This is my 2nd week on xen and my god am I starting to struggle, I'd kill for a cheese and pickle sandwich! lol I've not told anyone I'm taking the tablets either so I guess i'm lucky that I dont have people telling me its easy! and a magic pill! but it is very hard at times! xx dont give up and keep at it! xx

I went to the Vitality Show on Friday, wasn't there long but came away feeling very inspired about running!!!

My friend and I signed up for the Race for Life on battersea Park on the 13th June so I have about 11 weeks to get 5k fit..........what have i done!!!!

I started training on Saturday - actually wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. I downloaded the C25K app on my phone and used that. I also went out on Sunday morning as well. Going to try and get out 4 days a week - Tues, Thurs, Sat and Sun. Training after work tonight, feeling very motivated now that the sun is shining!!!

Anyone else training for a Race For Life?

Out training again last night - It was really hard work and a real effort even though I did the same amount of walking/jogging as at the weekend. Maybe it was because I had gone out after work and at the weekend I had gone out in the morning.

Weigh in at WW at lunchtime. Hoping for a 1 pound loss this week which will bring me into the 13's and a 2 and a half stone lost...........fingers crossed....nothing past my lips until after weigh in, i'll be starving my then. lol

I'm doing race for life on July 8th & really need to get training too, keep finding excuses but need to get on with it. I've got 12 days leave coming up & hubby is off most of it too so he can stay home with the boy while I run, well that's the plan!!!!

I was having a little grumble to myself a couple of weeks ago that no one had noticed that i had lost weight. In the space of 2 days I have had 3 people comment on how much weight i have lost.........i'm pleased but part of me is a little sad that I was so big in the first place that people are saying i've lost LOADS of weight!

Lost 1 pound this week, Which i am happy with as I have not been keeping to plan. I am off work for the next 2 weeks so I really need to be careful with my food and make time to exercise properly.
