This is a great time of year to attempt to lose the pounds.

We love getting new members and hope you will enjoy your visits here. We would really like to get to know you so please start a new thread in this section and tell us a little about you. Also if you have any questions either about the site or a particular diet we will try and answer them.

Once you have decided on a diet we suggest you start a diary thread in the section of your diet so others can help and encourage you.

Have a read of the sticky threads in this Introductions section to help you with the site.

Thanks - restarted diet again ok till tea time felt disappointed with myself so joined here already feel more positive and look forward to being a member you all seem so supportive

I have just joined here today! I am from little new Zealand, have a nearly 13 month old rainbow daughter who I have just weaned, I have always had issues with my weight, so I have decided to start taking xenical, I was on it many years ago, but am now unhappy with my body :)
Just thought I would introduce myself :)

I am a new member and look forward to posting and reading about everyone's weight loss journey. I am doing the Cambridge weight loss plan. My start weight was 14 stone 6 lbs and I am now currently 12 stones. My target weight is 9 stones so another 3 stones to go...!

I put on all of my weight after I got married :( I think I just fell into bad eating habits and was well and truly in my comfort zone. I have been unhappy with my body for some time now and having been slim for most of my life (albeit having to work hard at it) the transition for me has been tough. I have had to battle with a lot of nasty comments from people especially at work. A turning point for me was when I overhead people gossiping about my weight gain at work and rumours being spread that I was pregnant!

Anyway, thought I would introduce myself.
 
Just joined today , thought I'd say hello. Desperate to lose weight especially after my daughter was born 4 months ago!!

I too have a little girl who is nearly 13 months old and I am so desperate to lose weight also, I have decided to get onto xenical as she has just finished weaning :)
 
Hi All! Just joined today in preparation for starting the cambridge diet, my first meeting with the rep is on Sunday. So excited! I have a lot of weight to lose (around 8 stone) but here's to hoping this works!
 
She is a very good baby and she lies quietly watching/laughing at me doing zumba so I'm lucky. I just need motivation as I have a bad relationship with food. As soon as I'm on a diet I want to eat everything :mad:

Hi all, I joined minimins last feb with big aims to lose weight, but I failed and I went on holiday last July feeling like (not to mention looking like) a beached whale :cry:so I'm back and I've been planning this for a few weeks now, I totally enjoyed Xmas and new year and didn't think twice about anything, I said to myself friday 3rd jan I would weigh myself and start from there! I'm going to follow SW but at home, my aim is 2lb a week and I want to lose 6 stone roughly, so it's a long haul journey for me, I'm hoping to be at or damn near my target before mid September as I'm going on holiday again and I really don't want to look and feel the way I did last year.
 
Hi all, I'm an old new member. Uses to be on here years ago starting with Cambridge diet. Then weight watchers. In 2012 I joined slimming world, lost three stone. Put one back on in 2013 so now got two stone to lose to be at my goal :) started today :-D

Hi and happy new year - I'm really enjoying the site - it's friendly, supportive and full of useful info - but although I'm contributing - I'm not sure how to start a new thread - please can you advise?
 
Hi and welcome - I'm new here but finding it very interesting - I've done SW and Cambridge amongst many others and have been a yo yo dieter all my adult life but ever optimistic that I'll crack it one day and get to target and stay there - yes I think I did some some little piggies flying out there! Seriously tho' I wish you well on your weight loss journey.
 
I've just joined today and am very excited to be amongst others who have and still are living in my shoes. 2013 was a year of pain for me, pain in my hips, lower back and heel (thanks to a heel spur). After spending too long depressed about my weight I'm now fighting back and pushing through the mental and physical pain.
im from Australia and am a mummy of 2 precious boys. Xxx

Sounds like shes a text book bubba!! hehe cute! funny when they laugh at us working out a? its like "I so cant laugh right now im panting like crazy and your laughing at me" lol haha Ill be here for you love :) start my xenical tomorrow, excited but nervous too. Are you following any plan hun?
 
I'm following slimming world from home. I've got all the books. Come down with the flu now. Good start :(

Hi, I joined a while back but never really got started properly. Have slipped a few pounds on over the last year so now hoping to get back in shape. I am following SW at home. Great information and support on the site.

Hey everyone! I'm new to this site too! Started my Cambridge weight plan on 27th December 2013 and got weighed on Monday 30th and have lost 3lbs!! I already find myself dreaming of food and needed this site to help me over come the food demons in my head.
 
Hi Everyone!
Ive literally just started my diet today! I joined Slimming World Spring 2012. Stuck at it for 3 months, lost over a stone and then quit as I was happy with my weight loss. Watched what I was eating but then of course my mind wandered and I have slowly but surely went back up to the weight I started when I first joined Slimming World. Back now for round 2, going to my first class this Thursday, Totally determined to stick to it this time! Im so fed up looking in the mirror and hating what I see. The one thing I did notice myself doing was sticking to the same boring lunches every day in work which was either batchelors savoury rice or low fat super noodles. I need more variety so I thought this is just the place to be for the best advice! Looking forward to starting this lifestyle change and hopefully make some new friends along the way :)

Hello ive been lurking for a week and have done 1 week of exante so thought i would take the plunge and join the forum i have 2 stone - 2 1/2.
i find this website really good if i feel tempted i log on here for a bit thank you to all xxxx
