Hi RoseyRoo1983
I was there last week and I didnt think I would cope, but once I got my self control back and the realisation that it wasnt for ever not having food, then it passed.
I have to make meals for my husband and it is getting easier as I know this is only temporary, and that keeps me going, as does the fast weight loss.
I wish I could give more advice; I am sure others are better as have been doing it for longer, but I just let it pass and came to the realisation that this will happen from time to time, but being thinner is better! Remember, eating food only lasts a few minutes, but stays on the hips a while longer!!! And, just think of all your hard work will have been in vain! Just keep being positive and looking to the future.

Hope this helps

Hi guys!
I'm currently on my 4th day and haven't really had any problems following the diet. I really like the chocolate & strawberry shakes though! I don't really like the vanilla ones but I think I might try adding coffee to it.....hopefully that works!

I thought you weren't allowed to add pepper to the chicken soup one? My pharmacist said not to....so is it allowed or not?

Oh! I have found one tip. I really miss my chewing gum....so I chew on a straw when I'm at home. Haha. Somehow it helps! Thanks for the tips everyone!

Hi guys
I get round the chewing by making up my shakes with crushed ice and a little water only. The ice makes me crunch ;-) I know its probably not good for the teeth, but having my jaw move helps with the boredom of just sipping all the time!

Because it will knock you out of ketosis.

Lightbulb things that helped my first weeks

One thing that really helped me through the first week was sleep believe it or not. I went to bed for naps especially around the evening meal-time and went to bed much earlier than usual. I was exhausted so I needed the rest but actually I found the napping when my partner was cooking/eating helped me get used to the smells and not eating food.

Then I'd come down and have my soup with curry powder and mentally trick myself I was having a meal too!!!

This worked brilliantly for getting used to the diet.

3 weeks on I'm doing fine around cooking and others eating it. I actually enjoy cooking again and watching people eat it - kind of voyeuristic I guess

Another thing which really helped me was having an evening shower and using the Bodyshop's cocoa body butter on my skin afterwards. It smells so heavenly it's kind of like having a desert but without the calories!!!

Fi

Just to add another tea we can drink, redbrush is ok to drink. Its caffeine free and its a leaf tea. Not sure if its an acquired taste but I like it.

Hi
I came across this site by accident. I wish this was here when i was on LT. I was on LT 2 years ago and lost 22 lbs (11st 7lb) which was harrrrrrrrrd. In the 2 years my weight has gone up and down by 5lbs (brilliant). Since April this year my weight has now gone up to 12st 5lbs and will not go down, I feel so low within myself, (can't talk to partner or family) was thinking about trying LT again. But i had such a ruff time previously that i'm not sure.
Having seen the support and idea's of how to make the shakes and soup more appealling. I'm actually thinking of starting on Monday. Reading what some of you have gone through and your experiences makes me know i was'nt the only one that did'nt like the taste of the shakes and had withdrawal symtoms. It's giving me the strenght to want to give it another go. Especially the mint choc and vanilla with coffee.

Lightbulb Big thank you

Thanks for the suggestion to relieve the boredom.

Do wish they would make a different flavour of soup. Think I would turn into a chicken (if they actually contained any)

Missing diet coke

I was told no sweeteners to be added as they are actually made from sugar in some form so your body lives of it!
Is this right or wrong or am I thinking of a different sweetener?

I would love the shakes if could just add a sweetener or two as I only like the chicken soup so have that three times a day and I am bored to death already on day 4!

Lol
