Running to fabulous

Fresh start with Slimming world today. I went back to group last night after a good few months trying out the 90 day SSS plan. I couldn't get along with it s restrictive menu and ways, so here I am making a fresh start on SW.

Weigh-in last night, and I have a new starting weight of 10st 2lb. Ideally I would like to lose 14lb in the next 9 weigh-in's getting me down to 9st 2lb and then possibly try and get lower than that in time for the Paris Marathon in 2016.

I love running, and have signed up for my first ever marathon next spring, very excited for getting myself fitter over the next few months ready for the start of training in the winter months... I also have a few other races booked in, the first being 2 weeks on sunday. Great Manchester Run.

Looks like a great first day to me!!

Are you planning on training for a time for Paris?

In a normal world, I'll say I just want to finish, but... I'd love 4hr 30, but I need to see how training over the next few months goes and see what I can get my half marathon time to. In reality, I should probably look at under the 5 hour mark.

Trying insanity tonight. They have classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the gym, so I'm thinking it might be a nice routine to get myself into. Although Mondays I like track, so will see how it goes tonight.

I'm going to train for a sub 2hr 15 GNR hopefully!!! Eek! x

You will totally get that!!!! I managed 2hr 11 and that was in torrential rain and wind in Blackpool lol

It makes me consider joining a running club. I think training with someone would push me further.

Although I am exhausted and my body is still sore and tired - I managed 5k in 30 mins there now with each split faster than the previous one! Just need to keep that up for 4 times the distance... lol xx

I do love running with a club, nothing like team spirit at races. However, sometimes I just like running and training on my own... and not fast all the time! really irritates me some days, I like to just have a leisurely run. Going tonight with a friend for a nice and relaxed 4 miles instead of with the club :)

When's your next race?

Porridge made with skimmed milk, blueberries and pear.

Lunch
Chicken salad with FF dressing.
Melon and mullerlight

Snacks
Apple, banana, chicken

Tea
Mushroom and tomato omelette with baked beans and spinach.

HeXA: Skimmed milk
HexB: Oats

When's your next race?

Officially... the Great North Run on 13th Sept.

Unofficially... maybe a half marathon or 10k on either/both 24th May and/or 17th June. I'm undecided depending on how I feel closer to the time.

How did you find your first day back on SW?

Here to sub again. Marathon is exciting! 90 day did sound very restrictive, and I know your weight has gone up but do you think that's muscle? Do you feel more toned/fitter? Am seriously impressed by all your exercise.

Absolutely loved it... It's so much easier being able to grab and go pieces or fruit, yogurts etc when I'm feeling hungry. I was really tired though by the time I got home, so I didn't bother with the gym last night. Heading out for 4-5 miles tonight with a friend.

Ooo exciting! I think definitely both, but definitely the half, it'll give you an idea of what to aim for in the GNR. My sister did the GNR a couple of years ago now. It was such a great atmosphere! I'd love to go and do it one day, it's just finding the time to do it.

I definitely think a lot of it is muscle, and then some bloat on top of that. I don't actually look any bigger, considering it's nearly half a stone on. All my clothes feel fine too. I've reduced my target to 9st 2lb now as well, so different to last time, and I may even try to get lower than that for the marathon as I figured it'd be less stress on my body then...

Still going to try and keep up with exercising and especially the weights as I've really enjoyed trying to build muscle. I'm hoping to start either metafit or insanity as well this week alongside running as I found doing HIIT sessions in my kitchen helped with my fitness massively!

I've decided to head to the gym for an hour or so... Maybe a treadmill run and some YouTube videos?? Any recommendations for YouTube?

Perfect morning so far! Done my 6 miles, had a shower and now just making a brew to get on the sofa and watch all these runners being amazing!!!

Really excited! Although star week is imminent... So I'm not sure it'll be as great a loss as I am hoping for.
I've been the moodiest little so and so this weekend!

Been within syns all week though, so I'm proud of that!! And that includes a slice of cake 2 small glasses of wine and a chinese takeaway :)

Managed to fit in 5k on the treadmill saturday, and 6 miles in the sun on sunday. Trying to build my foot back up to longer distances.
