Does anyone else have a private rule on SW that they follow but it's not really part of the plan? Mine is that anything I'm offered to taste in a supermarket is syn free :D Was offered a Lindor chocolate in Costco last night, was lovely and even better, by my rule, no guilt! :)

There was a tasting of Heston mince pies, cheese and wine at Waitrose the other evening. The mince pies had been cut into small pieces, and I only had one tiny piece of each kind, so of course they don't count. Anyway, I don't like mince pies (actually I did like these!) and eating things you don't like doesn't count either.

There's another tasting of Heston party food tomorrow . . .

I have my own rule about syns: 30 for a treat day once a week, 15 for another day once a week (usually at the weekend), 15 on a non-routine day, 10 on all other days (but I can go up to 15 if it's too hard).

Occasionally I've had a brown fajita wrap and subtract 6 syns as a hexb even when it wasn't really. Otherwise I end up having loads of syns for something that gives me a meal both me and the bf will enjoy!

Most of my rules are more about making it more rather than less strict though. Like only 1 portion of cheese as hexes on a green day, and 2l water a day, and no red bull!

Haha this thread is great!

I do sometimes follow my own little rules. If we only have a big loaf of wholemeal bread in the house, 2 slices get counted as my HEXB, same as a small loaf. It also works the other way round as I struggle to drink a whole HEXA of milk in one go so the smaller amount I do have gets counted as my HEXA.

There are also no syns in tomato ketchup....ever! :D

I have never syned the tilda microwave rice sachets :ashamed0005: and everything is syn free in America or on big holidays :D

Also have been having Wetherspoons Jacket spud with pulled pork once a week for a while now and guestimating it as 5 syns.

When in doubt, everything small that I don't know - no matter how unnhealthy is "Oh, 2 or 3 synsish"...I think this is why my weight-loss has been slow this week!

If the canteen doesn't have wholemeal bread then granary counts as my HEXB. Anything not eaten in full, so tasters, bites of other people food etc are free. If I don't write it donw it doesn't count. There are NO syns in any alcohol!!

Agree about granary bread; ultimately I think it will be ok once in a while and more in the framework of a lifelong change.
Alcohol was a key reason I got fat in the first place though so I have to syn mine! :(

1. A weigh in without at least a wee beforehand is not a true weigh in. Ideally you would have a poo to make it official
2. Food eaten when no-one can see is free
3. Ditto for food eaten whilst standing
4. Ditto finishing leftovers because the other person already ate the syns for you
5. Christmas food is free. Santa died for our syns and we should honour his memory with chistmas fare such as traditional Lindt bunnies/reindeer.
6.licking your fingers, bowl, the spoon doesn't count.
7. Sweet corn is superfree and so is parsnip!

anti222- I LOVE that there is no syns in ketchup. I do syn mine, but not very accurately, I'm sure! :p
Browsie- are you sure there are NO syns in ANY alcohol? How much do you drink please? I do go over my syns pretty much every week because of vodka, but this week for example I only lost 0.5lbs and I was drinking 3 nights, so it must be that!

After weigh in is treat time till back again on the next morning :) (My group finishes at 8pm, so don't have that long to do any serious damage..I hope!)
If I nibble something from my boyfriends plate it is sin free!
o_O agree with the ketchup thing, I always forget to syn it..and spread too.

I LIVE by these rules haha we all have magic corridors from the kitchen to living room too, syns disappear in magic corridors.

Also nothing eaten whilst watching UFC has any syns, those guys need all the energy they can get! Im just doing my bit to help.
Wine has no syns on date night. (we very rarely get to have a proper date night and when we do it means we have a baby sitter so you better believe Im drinking ALL of the wine!)
Anything eaten at a SW taster has no syns. Come on, why would our friends and fellow weighers feed us synful things?!

Kimberlycandukan that's right NO syns in alcohol especially vodka. I drink every weekend. So long as I stick to food and dont give in to hangover pizza then im fine. Might not lose a much as I could but so long as it's coming off and I still have a social life I'm happy. I just think if I cut down to lose weight when I go back to ' normal' drinking that could cause me to put back on. So if I can lose while still going out I'm happy!

There are no syns in lasagne-sheet nachos, even if it is a tweak.

If I go to bother of making them, instead of eating Pringles, I am not synning them!

This thread is so funny!
For me :
1. Sweetcorn is superfree, definitely.
2. Granary bread will magically turn into wholemeal bread if you think slim thoughts while you munch it and don't have it often.
3. The first few gins are free. Sure they're only to get you started :)

Nothing from weigh in until bedtime counts, its a magical window! Thankfully I usually get weighed on an evening. Tasters definitely don't count, if I acquire a sweet or couple of crisps from my oh they dont count either, I close my eyes and its gone!
