Hello :)

On Saturday 25th January 2014 my b/friend comes home after working away and we will have not seen each other for six months, not only am I very excited about seeing him again but it is also the evening of our engagement party.
When he left four months ago I weighed 16st stone 10 lbs... I now weigh 13st 8 lbs so I have lost just over three stone. I am currently a size 16/18 and would love to be a size 12/14 for our engagement party. I realise this would mean losing around another two stone... my goal being between 11st 10 and 11st 8.

I have decided to keep a diary for the next 8 weeks for some motivation (I have been flagging after four months of weight loss,) some accountability (I have noticed my portion sizes have crept up slightly and the odd bag of crisps has reappeared on the menu) and to keep me focused. I don't want to lose sight of my hope and dreams of being a new, sexy and slim g/f for when I meet my B/F.

I plan to eat around 1000 cals a day, generally lowish carb (I don't eat bread, rice and pasta but have the odd potato) and exercise everyday. I'm not a gym bunny but I do walk 1 - 2 hours daily and also do fifteen minutes of toning exercise every day. I actually started last week but have had an indifferent week, I don't get weighed until Monday morning, hopefully two days of being uber-focused may see a pound or two move. It's also my totm so I feel bloated and lethargic lol... who would be a woman?

Today's menu:

b/fast - 100 cals of natural yoghurt, 1/2 tble sp raisins, 6 almonds 250 cals
lunch - sm portion of grilled belly pork, cauli, broccoli, peas 400 cals
tea - tuna and beetroot salad 220 cals
snk - white coffee, herb teas, raw carrots 100 cals
Total - 970 cals

2 pints of water

Exercise - 1 hr walk, 1 hr dance

Things to do to keep me occupied when feeling like needless snacking - Tidy house, get Xmas tree and decs out, hot bubble bath and pamper session.
 
Thanks Pheonyx ... At the beginning of the year I lost a lot of hair after finishing breastfeeding... and I know that the VLCD's can cause hair loss. I would rather take a slower route to lose my final two stone rather than lose any more hair lol, I already feel semi-bald compared to what I used to have. So I want to keep eating plenty of protein to ensure this doesn't happen. Thank you for the suggestion though, I have seen some of the VLCD results on here and they look amazing. x x
 
Well I lost a pound this week, I knew it wasn't going to be the 3.5lbs per week that I need as I had a bit of an indifferent week (too many bags of crisps) up until Saturday... so now I really have to kick some dieting butt as my weight loss needed for the next 7 weigh-ins is: 3.8lbs a week yikes!

I have around 30 pkts of Exante shakes and soups to use up from previous VLCD stint, so I think I will have a cple of days each week on Exante (600 cals) to help kick start my weight losses again.

Today's menu:

b/fast - Vanilla shake
lunch - Tom soup
tea - Choc shake
snk - white coffee, herb teas
Total - 660 cals max

2 pints of water

Exercise - 2 hr walk, 1 hr dance
 
Being naughty, I stepped on the scales today... and I am down another pound yay! So I will have another Exante day today before having a 900 calorie food day tomorrow.

Today's menu:

b/fast - Choc shake
lunch - Veg soup
tea - Vanilla shake in coffees
snk - white coffee, herb teas
Total - 660 cals max

2 pints of water

Exercise - 2 hr walk
 
Well done with the weight loss to date Pheonyx... 8lbs for your first week is fantastic... especially as you didn't weigh that much to start with. x x

I got on the scales today and I have lost another 2 lbs since yesterday so I am thrilled with that. :D Today is a foodie day though so I shall aim to stick below 900 cals.

Today's menu:

b/fast - Two slices of corned beef (150) Apple (50)
lunch - Homemade ham and veg soup (300)
tea - Ham salad (250 cals)
snk - white coffee, herb teas, pure cranberry juice (150 cals)
Total - 900 cals

2 pints of water

Exercise - 1 hr walk 1 hr dance
 
BTW Pheonyx which vlcd diet are you using? Your results are pretty fab to date. x x
 
I am full of cold and my chest feels congested... so I have just not felt like dieting for the last cple of days... but I have managed and today is an Exante day as it is weigh-in day tomorrow. Managed a 30 minute walk today but that's about it. As from tomorrow I will have only 6 weigh ins less to lose those two stones.... it feels like an impossible task atm.

lunch - shake
tea - Soup
snk - white coffee, herb teas,
Total - 660 cals

2 pints of water

Hair loss is not as common as people think on VLCDs and usually only starts after you've been on them for months, so if you were doing it for only 1 month you should be fine. Also most VLCDs these days are higher in protein than what most of us would normally have in a day as they have discovered that protein us very important in weight loss. I've been on my VLCD for 2 months and honestly can say it's given me great results and I've not lost any hair.

Official weigh day today... lost 3lbs this week. Short of my goal by .8 lbs, however it was only a five day turn-around since my last weigh in... just means harder work this week. And I need to actually drink two pints of water, rather than just planning to and forgetting about it.
6 weigh ins to go ... 24 lbs to lose :eek: that's 4lbs a week required.

I am going to have a combination day today of Exante and food, having a heavy cold is making me require more than just shakes. So the plan is:

b/fast - shake
lunch - large tuna salad
tea - soup
snacks - water, herb tea, white coffee

exercise - 1 hr walk

I was talking to my b/f on the phone last night for a cple of hours... how I have managed to keep my weight loss quiet I don't know but I am really looking forward to surprising him and feeling great about myself when we meet again.

Congratulations on the loss :) I was going to ask if you two keep in touch via Skype and see if he's noticed a difference yet :p If its just via phone all the better surprise though!
 
Lol yes, he will be very surprised. I have gone from a size 22 to a 18 going on 16 ... hoping to be a comfy 14 by the party.

Very little exercise due to feeling rough still.
