I am sooo going to do it this time :-)

I have just spent the last hour reading through all of your diaries and they are really interesting - so thought I would have a go.. I have never kept a diary before but am hoping it will help me with my journey and keep me on the straight and narrow!!

I started my "journey" in January when I tipped the scales at 335lbs! I saw a photograph taken over Christmas and was horrified - it then took me another 3 weeks to actually do something about it and the final straw was going to a conference with a collegue (who is a size 8-10) and feeling revolting and embarrased sitting next to her! So, I have been following Rosemary Connelly since then and taking Xen - I only take one tablet a day as I try to have fruit and/or yogurt and a cup-a-soup in the day then a low fat meal in the evening (I take the tablet with that) and I have lost exacly 4 stone - I guess I must be doing something right! I haven't done much exercise to date - with the exception of walking more, but am looking to start swimming the week after next!!

My next goal is our holiday booked for August - I would like to loose at least another 2 stone by then

Hello.. It's Saturday! I am really starting to dread weekends (as far as food is concerned) I find it relatively easy while at work.. I have got a busy, hectic job and it is easy not to think about food and keep in a routine but weekends are a whole different story! I have got my parents coming later this afternoon and OH is cooking a stew - I monitored him prepariing it this morning (much to his annoyance) and he didn't coook it in or add any oil/butter etc. but it has got Guiness in which I know is not great - I find I get really anxious if I am not in control of the food preperation - does anyone else find the same issue?? Anyway, I will be having a small portion and loads of veggies I have bought some Jelly Babies for tonight in an attempt to avoid chocolate coming out of the cupboard! (OH has a stash in the back of the cupboard and although I know it is there I can ignore it unless we are entertaining!) - I guess I am going to have to get used to these difficulties and find some coping strategies as this IS my new way of life and there are going to be many more weekends and family visits! Hope you are all having a good weekend xx

I so know where you are coming from, my hubby used to love cooking but he says I used to make him miserable watching over his shoulder the whole time but now he completely gets what I can & can't eat so he is trusted again lol. I tend to have sweets on hand at all times for when the nibbles attack, I am lucky not to be a chocoholic or I would have major problems with all the easter eggs my son got. You are doing so well though, 4 stone loss is fantastic, try & use that to get you through the weekends xx

I have survived the weekend of entertaining and even a shopping trip with my Mum today - which included a trip to Costa Coffee - I had a fruit tea I saw some really lovely dresses and the thought of being able to wear one has given me more determination not to spend another summer trying to cover up!

I have got a prescription of Xen here and, like everyone, there doesn't seem to be any around here.. I have got 6 tablets left so am going to have a ring around the pharmacy's tomorrow and see if I have any more luck!

Hope everyone else has enjoyed the weekend xx

Well done for staying strong this weekend! I used clothes in my wardrobe when I was wobbling, I would look at something I used to love wearing & think how great it would feel being able to wear it again & do you know what it feels even better than I thought it would, I am wearing nearly everything I couldn't get in which means a shopping trip will be needed in the next few months as I have hardly anything smaller left to slim in to!!!!

Diet: i am on xenical and cal count but try to make low gi choices too
The thought of Clothes in smaller sizes & nice dresses & skinny jeans are what help keep me focused too. When I started my journey I said I'd be happy at a size 16 & now I'm there its hard to believe and as lexie said it feels even better than you can imagine. Keep up your good work & well done x

What a day!!! Weigh in this morning.. I lost 2lbs - I know I should be really pleased with it but I was hoping for more! I think I might not hav eaten enough last week or maybe it was the bottle of wine mid-week? Either way, 2lb it is!

Then got to work and suddenly got a really bad headache - then it went from bad to worse all day!! I am usually a really positive person and it takes a lot to knock me but work really took it out of me today - however, I usually would have turned to some chocolate and I didn't!! So for that I am really proud of myself!!

Hoping tomorrow will be an improvement! Off to bed now! xx

2lbs is a fab loss. I think we would all like to see bigger losses at times so lose sight of how fab we are doing managing to lose even 1lb a week. Are you measuring yourself too so u can actually see the inches dropping off? & very well done not turning to choc x x x

Thank you for your comments!! I had a good nights sleep and have felt much better today

Had a really good day as far as food is concerned and have planned a king prawn stir fry with sweet chilli sauce for dinner - just waiting for the prawns to defrost!

Had a much better day at work too and am feeling much more positive about things - I seem to be making progress again! - Thank god! I am the Registered Manager of a residential home for young adults with learning disabilities and autism and one of the young ladies is having a really difficult time at the minute - being physically aggressive towards the support staff and destructive to her environment - needless to say it is enough to drive anyone to chocolate (and alcohol!!) However, I have resisted up until now and am feeling positive there will be no need for any tonight - going to clean the house insetad!!

Hope everyone else has had a good day xxx
