I plan my meals day by day. I usually work out my evening meal first then work out the rest of my meals around that. If i can i like to save my syns (or most of them) for later on in the evening. I always have a Variety of meals to keep motivated.
WOW, I made this tonight and it was fantastic. I'll be doubling the recipe next time. I'm also going to try it using quorn pieces for my vegetarian husband. :eat:
I love to make a cheese and potato pie with a twist. It usually serves 4 people. To mashed potato i add a splash of milk, my cheese allowance (i add 1 oz per person) But save a bit for the top, a chopped onion, chopped chives, a can of chopped tomatoes, mustard powder, mixed herbs, garlic...
I bought a chinese lettuce for the first time on monday. I saw a lady put one in her trolly and asked her what it was like and was it bitter. She said it was fresh and crisp tasting. I'm really fussy with lettuce but i really liked it. To me it tasted a bit like raw white cabbage but not as...
I always count fruit eaten before or after a meal that didn't include veg/salad as my 1/3 superfree. As long as you still have your 1/3 I cant see it making a difference when its eaten.
I've asked my consultant the same thing. Like you i don't want cabbage with my breakfast of egg and beans on toast. She said its fine to have fruit or veg as snacks between meals. Thats what i do and it hasn't caused me any problems.
Wear what feels comfortable for you. I refuse to pay out for expensive gym clothes when i'm losing weight and they won't fit in a few months time. I wear L.A Gear 3/4 (well, just below the knee for me - i have long legs!!) Trousers that cost £4.99 and a Slazenger (mens) T-shirt that cost £2.99...
My consultant once said to us that if we were bought 7 beautiful roses and one shriveled up you wouldn't throw all 7 away. So if we have 1 bad day it doesn't matter carry on and enjoy the rest.
I love to make a chick pea salad.
1 can of chick peas, rinsed
1 onion sliced into rings
A few cherry tomatoes quartered
Mix together in bowl
Then add
1-2 tsp ground cumin
salt & pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
1-2 tbsp lemon juice
a huge handfull of chopped mint
Mix together well and chill until needed.
I make my porridge with half a cup of water in the microwave then add a sprinkle of sweetner and stir in a weight watchers yoghurt. It's quick, easy and filling.
I think i'm going to have to get one. I'm missing ice cream, especially now that we're having such great weather. I don't know how much longer i can just watch my kids tucking into the yummy stuff!!!
Hope this helps
