Extra Easy Days Journey to mini- target #3 // 1lb lost - 5.5lbs to go

I know the post is old but just had to comment. I totally agree, Frylight is vile to me, the smell of it turns my stomach. I use PAM or canola spray from Costco. I get the hubby to bring it back from the US or buy the canola spray at UK costco but its rather syn oil than use fry light. shudders...

STARTING SW AGAIN! need some motivation

Don't beat yourself up. We have all been here. I'm back after doing pretty much same as you. It's frustrating but I'm seeing it as a 'new' start. Whilst I may have had a few 'new' starts along my weight loss journey, so what? Best advice :- begin where you are now. Not where you was...

Slimming world + 1/2 days a week calorie counting

I have done this before and it does work. I still do it now when I eat out. No way am I counting 25-40 -+ syns for a pizza less than 1000 calories. So if I eat out I just calorie count or if I'm vacation I do the same then switch back to SW at home. End of the day food = calories either it's...

Go to group or do on-line?

I'm just not into the groups. I know many swear by them and it's works for them, but not me. Once I get my head straight abd focus I'm fine and online works for me. I think it doesn't help that I'm a vegan and I find most of what they talk about not relevant to me. Plus I just done have a...

    Myfitnesspal

mfp is brilliant. If you eat it log it, its pretty good for UK and US foods if you travel at all. Any diet/plan works if you stick to it, just find one and run with it. But, mfp is great for logging what you have and the bar code is good for being too lazy to type things in ;-)

do you feel comfortable at your meeting?

the half pound could be down to so many things as well. Type of clothing you wore if slightly heavier, time of the month, ovulating, retaining water for any number of reasons, heavy meal night before. Don't lose heart - weight loss is a journey of ups and downs I have found. I hope you find a...

Go to group or do on-line?

i prefer online, can't stand all the clapping and body image stuff after class. It goes on far too long for my liking. I know many people who swear by the classes and and the support you get. But, i think it all comes down to the type of person you are and what motivates you. I have tried...

    Fat, vegetarian hating consultants?

I personally wasn't criticising the consultants per se, I was saying they were not as knowledge of different ways of eating as I would expect to be honest. I do not expect them to necessarily understand the intricacies of eating as a Vegan, however it would be nice if they acknowledged other...

    Vegan Slimmer - 60lb journey

Hi, I am another vegan. Decided it was time to get back on track so I'll join in if that ok and follow this thread :-) I emailed SW long time ago about vegan cheese and paraphrasing their reply was - 'vegan cheese doesn't contain enough calcium to be counted.' They were constantly looking...

    Fat, vegetarian hating consultants?

Luckily I still have all the PDFs of the old green plan and as a vegan I use these. I've been a SW member online on and off surging the years and downloaded the 2012/2013 onwards files. It's helpful as I do not like the EE and when I went to class my consultant whilst absolutely lovely was...

    Vegan and starting Slimming World.

Hi I am a vegan. I've tried SW before and had varying successes and failures. Need to get back on the weight loss bandwagon so up for giving it another go! I find SW hard as a vegan sometimes. Loads of free vegan stuff such as rice, potatoes and pasta plus fruit and vegetables. Yet, some of...

Why is RC now all about calories?

I've done SW & WW, guess we've tried them all. I however constantly come back to counting calories, I could never get my head around eating fruit or other food for 'free'. Everything has a calorie value so feels wrong somehow. My motto is ' if it passes my lips, it gets counted' no ifs no...

    soya milk

You can buy soya milk especially for coffee etc that doesn't curdle now, I use it in cooking. My local Tesco had it, which isn't a huge one so look out for it :-) Hope that helps.

    Sloooow Dowwwwn

Don't think it's just an aspect of low carb, it's any weight loss programme. The body is a complicated creature and perverse. Long as you stick to plan you will lose the weight, just don't lose heart. If your doing everything right it will come off, as said you'll drop more weight one week...

    Newbie question

Hi Thanks for your reply, didn't know if it was just stick with it and it will go away or I'd be craving forever. Going to give it another go and stick with it, least I know once I get through the craving it will be better. Thanks again.

    Newbie question

Hi everyone. I've tried Atkins in the past, but after 1-2 days I start craving carbs, I miss bread and potatoes etc. My newbie question and apologies if it's a silly one. Is it just a case of sticking with it, getting through those first few days and it becomes easier? Will the carb...
