Total Solution Hello i'm new & looking for encouragement.

Hang in there! I love my scales, but I turn into a bit of a junkie (getting on twice a day sometimes ), so I ditched them. The water balance is so changeable that I'd get siscourages by the fluctuations and give up in the past. Now get weighed on wii fit - such a faff to start up and...

    Scared of saggy skin

So pleased that this discussion is on here - I'd been really worried! So long as there is the possibility that it may be ok, I think that's a really positive thing.

    Coming off?

It's a shame, as your losses have been great! I hate the shakes too (and the bars, and the soups......) but have found it easier if I only have a half a shake at a time (so six per day), but drink them through a straw right at the back of my mouth - to avoid as many taste buds as possible...

Total Solution Joining the Exante gang!

Welcome! I'm new too, and have about the same to lose as you. But.... been on it for a week, and have already lost that first stone :D. I know I still have a long way to go, but it's a great kick-start. And walking to work is a little easier already too - and much less out of breath when I...

Total Solution Hello i'm new & looking for encouragement.

Welcome mamaden - hope it's going well so far. It really is quite galling when you realise you have so much to lose - I'm with you on that one (144lbs to lose when I started a week ago). But after that one week I've already lost my first stone, which is MASSIVE motivation to carry on. I...

    Polenta

I like the pre-made stuff sliced and layered up with peppers, onions, mushrooms and some mozzarella from your HEXA, sprayed with fry light and baked in the oven. Finish with a dash of reduced balsamic vinegar and serve with a leafy salad. Lovely.

    question about laughing cow light

It's ok, but you may need to loosen it little with some milk from you HEXA allowance.

    Green Day Parsnips?!

Parsnip soup with a dash of curry powder - sweet and spicy and warm. Yum!

    Fennel

I like fennel sliced up with some onion and tossed in a couple of squirts of frylight, and parcelled up in a foil package under some cod and some salt and pepper. Bung it in the oven at 200 degrees C for 20 minutes and serve with some salad and a HEXB bread roll to mop up the juices. Sweet and...

    Slimming World Chips

I agree that the actifry is the way to go - I dice the potatoes into 1/2 inch cubes and pop it a couple of whole garlic cloves and some rosemary too. Mmmmmmm!

    What instead of cream?

For what it's worth, I usually substitute Total 0% fat Greek yoghurt - similar properties and totally yummy :-)

    Syn free toffee apple crumble

Love the idea with the alpen bars - have been trying hard to think of a suitably low syn crumble topping for fruit.

    super free meals

Soup all the way - apparently the reason that it keeps you full for longer is that your body has to work longer to sort the nutrients out and process them (as everything is whizzed up). Added bonus I suppose!

    New returner help please

My first proper day back today - have complete sugar withdrawal (and associated thick head), but am relishing the fact that this means I'm (finally) starting to treat my body properly again. What a good idea to plan a detailed food diary in advance - may borrow that one! Good luck everyone!

    Airfryer/actifry Ideas

We got one, and I love it! It makes a lovely job of peppers - chop them into strips, and bung them in with some fry light and a little garlic. Great stirred into pasta sauces or with cottage cheese on a ryvita.

    Knorr stockpots

The darker beef ones are really lovely in bolognese recipes - and are great for making quorn taste a little more "meaty" (always an issue with my non-sw family!

    Butterkist Sweet Microwave Popcorn

I really love popcorn - but the stuff I pop myself is never as nice as the sweet butterkist. Great to know that it's not completely off limits, and surprised by the amount you get for the syns. Thanks!

    Slimming world or ww?

For me, I really think you've all hit the nail on the head as to why I found sw hard going previously. I think that the portion control I had was pretty much non-existent! The diet said potatoes and pasta are "free foods on green days" - so I took it to heart, checked my brain in at the door...
