Slimming World- Online?

Hi. Im over in New Zealand so dont have the luxury of going to slimming world classes. Can anyone recommend joining online?

I use the old school slimming world my friend taught me, red and green days. This has worked for her and just before xmas i lost a stone on it, though I was also swimming 5 times a week with it.

Does anyone else need to do a lot of exercise with slimming world to see results? Or do some just do the diet and little exercise?

I just want to check I am doing this properly, hence why I am thinking of joining online and doing the "new version"

Advice appreciated

:)

Hi Kiwisam...
Personally I got to target doing green plan and only general walking for exercise. And I don't intend changing over to the new plan that's now available.
I actually attend a local group so don't have any experience of being an online member but we do have quite a few here on the forum.

Hi Janet!

Cheers for that. I mainly have green days too, and red days when i crave meat.

Ill just stick to what Im doing for now and see how it goes. I love going swimming anyway but just wanted to know if I missed swimming one week, the diet alone is enough to loose the weight :)

My consultant says that the plan followed should be enough to lose the weigh without the exercise, its just especially good for changing (reshaping) our bodies and also for motivation (it helps keep my head in the right place). I too still do Red and Green days too, mostly Green apart from the 2 before weigh in day. Do you get weighed on a certain day? Janet has been a really good support for me and Minmins is a fun place to be.

Donna is absolutely right...SW don't advocate the need for exercise to lose weight. Personally I thought it was a little strange but have found it to be true.

When I originally lost my weight, I didn't do any exercise, just followed the plan. Once I got closer to where I wanted to be target wise, I began going to the gym on a regular basis. I plan on doing the same thing again this time, lose the excess and then start to get my fitness back up :)

Hi Kiwisam, I do the SW online, more to fit round family and work as I don't have time to attend group. It is a great motivational tool, there is a thread on here about doing SW from home, though if you are aware of how the diet works, coming on here for a chat can be motivation enough. I am on the Extra Easy plan and find it useful logging on to update my food diet and logging my weight each week, also the syn calculator is very useful :)

I have done both classes and online, I'm going it alone at the moment for financial reasons but to be honest the only thing I miss about online is the syn calculator, I didn't use it for much else.

I lost 5 stone on SW in 2011 without doing any additional exercise, so the diet definitely works without it. I put almost 2 stone of it back on so now trying to lose that again, and this time I'm including exercise not necessarily for weight loss but because I think it will tone me up and improve my shape, inches instead of pounds lol

thank you Janetelizabeth. TBH if you just google search the syn values of most things they're on the web somewhere :)
