A slimming world poem for us all....

Donnie46

Slow but sure....
SLIMMING WORLD

Chocolates, crisps and biscuits
Never stretched my tum
I'd eat all put infront of me
‘Till I became a mum

But as family expanded
My clothes kept getting bigger
Baggy jumpers were my friends
They hid my wobbly figure

I wasn’t happy with my size
But found it hard to diet
With goodies always in the house
You really ought to try it

Several times I’d tried to slim
Much to everyone’s dismay
I was miserable and grumpy
People kept out of my way

No diet seemed to suit me
As I found out to my cost
I’d lose some pounds, give it up
Put back more than I’d lost

A question from my daughter
Became the final straw
“When is the baby coming?”
My fat could stay no more

Feeling nervous and embarrassed
I sought out Slimming World
And straight away was put at ease
A new life had unfurled

I discovered two new eating plans
Labelled red and green
So many different choices
To help me become lean

It really was amazing
Such a lot to eat
Whole family joined the eating plan
There was no need to cheat

The weight began to fall off
I really was impressed
And with friends' encouragement
I never got depressed

With my dress size getting smaller
And my confidence increasing
I found myself looking forward
To my weigh in at each meeting

Now the compliments keep coming
I really do feel great
All you need is Slimming World
To help you lose that weight!

No, I'm sorry I did'nt write it, I found it on the internet quite by accident and as it was about Slimming World I thought I would share it.

There was no signature with the poem.

I'm glad you liked it.

That's brilliant, reminds me of a poem my Grandma wrote years ago about dieting, I'll have to dig it out and post it :)

I know this was written ages ago but what a brilliant poem, sounds like me apart from all the compliments part as haven't lost that much yet.
