Activity points advice.

    Good morning all,I would appreciate everyones opinion on if I should be having more points after working out at the gym. I have calculated my points allowance to 29 per day and do most days use them all. I know the importance of doing this as my wife keeps telling me, but I go to the gym every lunch time running 5km which on average burns approx 500 cals. Should I be using more points ?Many thanks.

    Hello :) well done on your healthy new life.
    I have a ww pedometer plus some people say they are pants but I like mine it tells me I have to do 4486 steps to behealthy before I can earn AP I do lots of walking 3 kiddies alone with no car and I do 30 mins treadmill a day and 30 mins wii just fit fast ones and I earn average 4 AP a day,I never used them unless its an emergency.
    Being on 29 P a day is a good amount I started on 24 P and found them plenty if I ate low GI and healthy foods not too many snacks,Im on 21P now so its harder and I have 5 stone to go so thats going to be 16P :( thats when I will my AP.
    How long have you been on plan and what are your losses like? The only way you can tell if they will efect your losses is by trial and error :) x

    hiya Flint, if you feel the need to, you can eat upto 12 activity points a week if you need them.

    They recommend you dont always eat them though as it gets you into the habit of eating more. Are you drinking enough? i go to the gym and although i am not upto running as far as you do, i do find that i often mistake hunger for thirst so i make a point of having a lot of water to make up what i lose through sweating at the gym.

    Thanks for both replies, It's good to know that I can have a little more if needs be but don't have to if I don't want to save them. I've only been doing this WW thing for about 4 weeks but rather than lots of weight loss I'm noticing more of a loss of stubborn fatty areas that my daily gym work wasn't shifting. I suppose it helps that I haven't had a drink in 4 weeks, even with all the footy.. Lol my mates think I'm weird!!

    I thought they changed that quite recently so that you can eat all your APs?
