Alesha: Look but Don't Touch

Monday 07 July

9:00pm - 10:00pm
BBC3
Once upon a time Alesha Dixon's dream was to win Strictly Come Dancing. Now that's done, she's out to abolish airbrushing. Having watched in horror as images of herself - an attractive woman, by anyone's standards - are routinely retouched, Alesha is on a mission: to persuade a magazine to publish "imperfect" photographs of her. First she proves how dangerous digital retouching can be, leading to a warped body image in children as young as four. Alesha even overcomes her squeamishness to watch a body-obsessed 18-year-old undergo breast implantations (like-minded viewers may want to avert their eyes). This documentary may not revolutionise the fashion industry, but it proves there's more to Alesha Dixon than nifty dancing.

This programme is really interesting. What a lovely, down to earth woman Alesha is.

How sad when she spoke to the young girls at the playscheme and most of them didnt like the way they looked, the small girl of about 4 who didnt like being brown........what a sad world we live in.
