Cream me up Scotty....testing, testing

Lives here....
On the normal forum there is a revived post about excess skin post weightloss. There has been some talk that prompted me to start throughly moisturising myself to negate saggy bits. I like a good research so I looked up the best firming moisturisers (I have been using body shop body butter).

The best under £10 appear to be, in no particular order:

nivea firming with Q10
Dove Pro-Age
Jergens Firming
Palmers Firming for after weightloss.

Today I found out that most of these are on offer in boots and Nivea in sainsburys. I bought a bottle of Nivea :)

Would anyone care to join an experiment and test one of the others (or any other of similar type) and give them marks out of 10. Kind of an impartial minimins consumer blog?

Im in :) skint atm so I will see what I have in the house and review it then purchase one of the recommend ones and review them too :)

Cool! Could be fun. I have countless body creams laying around so willing to experiment!!!

The price angle is interesting. I found some at over £130!!! Although it would be good to have a range....that's ridiculous. Ok ill Nivea for a month. It claims to make a difference in 2 weeks so a month is more than sufficient

That's really interesting. I've been using the Nivea whenever I shower or bath. I can honestly say I don't think its made much of a difference BUT it's the long term benefits of moisturising, ANY moisturiser, that I am focusing on. I just don't think the 'specialist' firming properties make a lot of difference over a standard body moisturiser. I want to know which yours is!!!

So it's been 4 weeks.

I abandoned the nivea q10 firming cream and went back to body shop body butter. The Nivea left me sooooo sticky. Yuck. Plus I didn't notice any difference. With the body shop stuff my skin is so soft. It's more expensive but certain ones are £5 at the mo!!

Just noticed this thread. I used the palmers stuff while pregnant and after my baby. It's rubbish and just makes me sticky and smell sickly sweet!

The two lotions I've found that actually firm you up a bit are garnier body tonic and soap and glory firminator. The garnier one is normal body lotion and I love it! Soaks in really quickly and makes skin firmer. The soap and glory one is a like a cellutite cream and costs a tenner but it works! I'm not sure they make that particular one anymore, but they do have other similar ones that I've yet to try. I do love their stuff but find the moisturisers a bit too thick.

If you just want lovely soft skin, nothing beats a bit of baby oil or baby lotion after a bath! Cheap as chips too! I've been pinching my son's after we got bought gallons of the stuff!!
