Ever tried zig-zagging/cal-shifting/cal-cycling?

I am just wondering if anyone here has ever tried any of these diets?
Zig zagging, claorie shifting or calorie cycling?
They are all the same thing by different names.
The idea is to take your weekly caloric intake and on each day to eat a different amount of calories.
ie: mon-1200
tue-1800
wed-2200
thur-1450
etc...
You get the idea. I am curious how this diet has worked for people. I have done some research and it seems logical, but would like to hear other peoples opinions.

Yeah, I did calorie cycling a few times in my lifetime. Enjoyed it most of the time as it stopped me getting into a rut. Weight loss wise it didn't make a great amount of difference but it helped keep me focused :)

I also did carb cycling a few times.

I did lose weight when I kept to it, but then I lost weight when I kept to low cal (well.the same..for when I was doing it strictly).

That's not to say that zig zagging doesn't produce better results. I know people who swear by it :)

Carb cycling is a similar thing but you do it with carbs. Not such precise weight loss, though people I know who carb cycle usually really reduce their calories too (hence their success)
