Our two new chickens (Vee and Dub) arrived last night to join Eggs and Zed at the end of the garden. Bailey the terrier and Sam the foxhound were very excited at their arrival. :heartpump:

All was well first thing this morning until a knock on the door from a neighbour over the back who had a chicken in her garden.

Hub collected Dub and returned her to the run, just as Vee laid her first egg for us .

I kept checking them but by 11am Dub had gone again. It took an hour of door knocking, leafleting and waiting before we found her next door. Vee and Dub are now locked in the coop, whilst Eggs and Zed are free ranging in the run.
Hub has made the 8ft fence even more secure so it shouldn't be long before all four chickens are living happily in OUR garden!

All is well in the hen house this morning. Another egg from one of the new girls and all four accounted for. I'm looking forward to making my first big jar of pickled eggs!
