Help!

Hi All, Im new to Minimins and have just started slimming world. Im not going to the classes, im just doing it at home.

How do I figure out the syn value of low fat stuff? IE, ive brought a Tesco Healthy Living sweet chilli dressing, which is 99 calories per 100g but its only got 1% fat. I read somewhere that if its less than 40 calories per 100g it would be free, but im not sure how to work it out.

Also the Tesco reduced sugar strawberry jam, i cannot find a syn value for!

Can anyone help? I hope I make sense.

Thanks guys :D

With things like sauces, dressings, jam - things which don't have a free food content - you can use a basic rule of 1 syn per 20 calories. So the chilli dressing would be 5 syns for the 100g, 1 syn per 20g.

According to Tesco website, the reduced sugar jam is 28 calories per tablespoon (that would be a level tablespoon, not heaped). Which is just under 30 calories, so call it one and a half syns per tablespoon.
