Homemade gravy vs granules!

I was just checking the syns calc and was a bit dissapointed with gravy.

On a sunday i normally make my own Jamie Oliver stylie. I cook the meat on a bed of onion, celery, carrott, garlic & herbs. After the meats cooked i drain off any fat and add a thickening agent, then mash the veg and strain. Accroding to the Syn calc that would be 3syn per 4 tbsp!

If i were to have the same amount of gravy made from granules it would only be 1syn. Not half as tastey or nutritious.

Anyone eles have homemade gravy experiences at lower syn value?
