Natural/Home remedies for tonsilitis

I've been feeling dreadful since Saturday with really sore ears/throat & a cough. I've been taking paracetomal, honey & lemon but isn't clearing up. I noticed this morning that I've got big white lumps on my tonsils so presume it's tonsillitis.

I've also got little white lumps (ulcers) on my tongue. Between that feeling sick, having heartburn etc I'm in a right state, I just don't know what to do with myself as everything is making me sick.

Has anyone got any advice or tried & tested remedies?

I'm 38+3 weeks pregnant so limited to what I can take as I'm not sure if the dr can give me antibiotics.

Help please.

When I had tonsilitus the doc told me to gargle dissolvable aspirin as it helps clear up the infection on your tonsils (and probably your tongue too)
But I've got no idea if that's ok to do while pregnant sorry

I was given antibiotics for sinusitis in 3rd trimester. I think that many things are alot safer the closer you are to birth.
