O/T chuffed!!

Was at my middle child school today, having a meeting with the head. He mention that her reading age was now 9.
in an amazingly good way as in June it was 6.11 yrs and she's was 8.2yrs.
Last sept it was 5.8yrs, In Dec she got perscribed precision tinted lens and was diagnosed with a condition called visual stress. As soon as she put these glasses on her reading improved 100% when the optican tested her. In Jan her reading was up by a year.
Over the school holidays we had been doing a online reading course.

I just can't believe it, she's reading Ronald Dahl and Enid Blyton Malory Towers.

Now the school and i have to help her with her literacy, numeracy, speech, audio processing, writing and her memory.

fantastic. as a mum I know how proud you feel when they do well. It sounds like she has really worked hard and it is paying off.

Awww, thats fab news. These coloured lenses seem to be really good for kids with dyslexia too, I used to read an autistim forum (thought my child was autistic) and there was lots of talk about it.

She's is mildly dyslexic, so it's a little bit of the bigger parcel of all her difficulties.

Another bit of good news, she and her older sister passed their karate grading today and are now purple belts.
