Quick question about Cake...

Auburn

Hello,

Not so much a recipe but I didnt know where else to put it... I'm not asking from a diet/calorie/what's-healthier point of view, just from a taste point of view!!

You know that icing that goes on wedding cakes, the stuff that you roll out? Do you think that you could put that stuff on a chocolate cake, or would it just be weird?

I usually use chocolate buttericing.. Thanks for any input..!

its basically pure sugar probably flavoured with a little vanilla. On chocolate cake i think it would be unbearably sweet. Not sure it would make a good substitute for butter icing, but if its what you like why not try it. Will be less fat than butter icing, but horribly high on the carbs. I think personally if i had to put something on chocolate cake instead of butter icing i would make up some chocolate mousse with good quality dark chocolate and whipped egg white. Much lower in cals and carbs than either the butter icing or the rolled out icing.
