I am just in AWE of this thread, I thought this forum had covered it all but just goes to show ...
I would go for the scissor type ones as they are easiest to master, there are some plastic type ones which are much more fiddly... BUT! Sometimes I do makeovers on ladies, and the one thing that most people have difficulty with is mastering the eyelash curlers. Can you get a female friend to help? The best ones to buy are the classic Tweezerman or Jemima Kidd, but they do cost about £10.
My tips are: Get your top eyelashes in as far as they will go and gently squeeze for at least 30 secs. You can get a better curl by heating them up first. Run them under a hot tap, (don't get them too hot though).
