Do you have to have snacks

Hi there. Done CS for a week a while back and lost 10lbs so im giving it another shot so back to day 1 again. In the quick programme guide you get with the weeks suply of shakes it says " if you can avoid having the snacks you will lose weight quicker" Is this true as I thought the whole idea of CS was to have snacks in between shakes/meals in order to keep metabolism working.
Can anybody help me out on this. Thanks.
