Karen's 'Scenic Route to Target' Diary

    Hi all,

Well after following WW, losing motivation and becoming complacent, then switching to SW and becoming probably the slowest loser in my group I have now reverted back to what I know - WW! I am in the right head space and just need to maintain motivation so thought what better way than to start a food diary!

After weighing in at SW last Thursday I took the plunge and signed back up for my monthly pass. Weighed in last night with a loss of 2.5lb. My natural weight loss pattern has always been good week bad week so I'm hoping for 1.5lb this week (will be happy with that on a bad week!)

    So today's food:

    Breakfast:
    Pineapple (0)

    Lunch:
    WW soup (2)
    2x Asda petit pains (6)
    Multipack Twirl (5)

    Dinner:
Chicken breast (4) in homemade BBQ sauce (0) topped with bacon (1) and 30g cheese (1) with homemade oven cooked chips using frylight (4) and 60g peas (1)
    WW sticky toffee pud (4)
    Wonka Millionaires Shortbread Bar (6)

    Dailies - 32/32
    Weeklies 1/49

    Activity points earned:
25 minute swim (breast stroke) +2
    45 minute walking +3
15 minutes gardening (raking and sweeping) +1
    TOTAL +6
I don't eat my activity points but like to monitor how active I have been ?

Any advice on my food or points values etc is much appreciated!
A few mini targets to work towards:

    Reach 15% Weight Loss (14st 3lb)
    Be under 200lb (14st 3lb)
    Get into the 13s (13st 13lb)
    Reach 3st loss (13st 10lb)

That should be enough to keep me going for now

Hi Serena, Thanks for subscribing and congrats on getting to goal - you must be so pleased! And you're right, it's all about getting the most food for your pp ;-) I'm trying to decide on what to have for dinner tonight. I've saved 20 points for dinner and something sweet while Saturday night tv is on (I have to snack on something during X Factor and Strictly!) but can't decide what to spend my points on. I think a trip to Asda is in order with my PP calculator in hand

Hi neighbour I actually just managed to get myself lost on the Gravesend one way system this evening lol.

After having a browse around Asda I decided I wanted chicken nuggets, chips and baked beans. But I couldn't justify the points so I adapted it slightly as below...

    Breakfast:
    Raspberries (0)
Half a WW raspberry yoghurt (1)
    WW hot chocolate (1)

    Lunch:
3x Be Good To Yourself sausages (5)
Chopped peppers and onions cooked in fry light
    1.5 tablespoons baked beans (1)
    1tbsp tomato ketchup (0)

    Dinner
    5x breaded chicken nuggets (6)
    Sweet potato homemade 'chips' (2)
    Normal potato homemade 'chips' (4)
60g peas flavoured with chilli, garlic and parsley (1)
Asda petit pain (3) with homemade garlic butter + fresh coriander (1)
    1tbsp ketchup (1)
    WW sticky toffee pudding (4)
    Wonka Millionaire Shortbread Bar (6)

    Dailies 32/32
    Weeklies 34/49

    Activity points earned:
    30mins swimming +3
    30mins walking +2
Total earned so far this week +15

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend

I wasn't too sure about the ketchup to be honest as I had about a tablespoon with lunch which my tracker said was 0pp but then another tablespoon with dinner which also said 0 but for 2 tablespoons it says 1pp. so I rounded it up to 1 to be on the safe side...is that right? if I have 1 tablespoon at 2 meals in a day would you count it as 0 per meal or 1 for the day? If that makes sense lol. I'll gladly take the 1pp back ;-)

Oops sorry I didn't notice the lunch time ketchup' doh! It would be 1pp then, as an example if I have Kingsmill 5050 Bread but decide to have 2 slices separated I still count it as 5pp even though they are 2pp Each. As long as I eat something on the same day then I use the Multiple Rule. Sometimes it's of benefit, sometimes it's not! X

I agree, no point cheating yourself..it's only going to make my road to target take longer!
A few mini targets to work towards:

    Reach 15% Weight Loss (14st 3lb)
    Be under 200lb (14st 3lb)
    Get into the 13s (13st 13lb)
    Reach 3st loss (13st 10lb)

That should be enough to keep me going for now
