    Shopping at Aldi helps us budget. Also bulk buying things like pasta which can last. I usually check the Aldi website for their offers while doing my meal plan for the week. Good luck. x

    greek freak :) moussaka ish ....

    So I made this. Had already had my healthy extra A earlier in the day so instead of the feta I mixed together an egg, 1/3 cup cottage cheese and 1/3 cup fromage frais. Poured the mix over the meat mixture and put it in the oven. Scrummy.

    Don't have breakfast food! I have often had left overs from dinner heated up in the microwave. If it is just the type of food don't torture yourself with food you don't like!

    Extra Easy A week in a hotel! Arghh!

    We stay at Premier Inns when visiting family. There is always lots of fruit and yogurt. Also you can ask for eggs done how you want. Last time I had a soft boiled egg with a piece of wholemeal toast for soldiers with fruit salad. All on plan!

    If I remember correctly they do a tapas dish of grilled chicken with a tomato and pepper paprika sauce which looked pretty good. Also prawns in a tomato chilli sauce. Is their menu online? That might make it easier to plan.

    I sometimes take leftovers from night before. So if I make a pasta bake I make an extra portion and take that. But I am a bit of a weirdo and quiet happily eat things like that cold. X

    Tuesday: Buffalo chicken, boston baked beans and coleslaw. Wednesday: Turkey chilli with rice and coleslaw. Thursday: 3 colour carbonara. Friday: Spicy beef and egg hash. Saturday: Leftovers, salad and boiled potatoes.

    Mushroom & lentil loaf

    Used red lentils, didn't have any mushrooms so added about 4 parsnips which I peeled, cut into chunks and boiled with the lentils. It was really tasty and went down well with the boy too.

    Taster sesion ideas??

    We had one recently and I took a rice pudding. There was a cheesecake, homemade hummus, chicken marinaded in chilli, lime and cumin which was grilled, scanbran cake, lettuce cups with keema mince in them. I didn't need tea that night! X

    These are brilliant. I made them with half a chilli and a clove of garlic in with the cottage cheese to blend it all up. I used them to go with a mexican feast of refried beans, salad and fajita turkey pieces. Thanks! XXX

    Avoid the very obvious like deep fried i.e. croquettas. There is usually some options of bean and chicken dishes with tomato sauces which are usually delicious and also I think must be lower in syns. Hope it helps. X
