    Lancsgirls weightloss journey

Hi Ang Good luck on your journey! I live near Preston but work in Southport so not far away from you! I go to a group nearer home and I was shocked when I rejoined recently and realised I'd gained 4 stone! I horrified at the number staring back at me on the scales! Fortunately, my SW leader...

Anyone 12 stones to 11 stones

I had a week like that recently where I had been soooooo good for two solid weeks but still gained a pound. A pound wasn't catastrophic but I was miffed after sticking to it. Then the following weeks when I was naughtier than a naughty thing, I lost consistently. All of which is a very...

Lickthelid's mini scan bran challenge week!

Morning All I'd like to join you in this please. I have been lurking for a while and did do a week a few weeks ago (lost 3lbs that week) but the following week I had a gain. Like Lickthelid, I think alternating it and cooking it works best for me. Anyway, here goes - good luck everyone. Alison

    Monday weigh in

Some great losses this week - well done to you all! I had a small gain of 1lb which is more confusing than catastrophic. I was 100% for 6 days out of 7 but had one planned flexi day where I planned and had 40 syns. Could that one meal really have caused a 1lb gain? There's a chance it could...

What are you using your Healthy Extra's for today..?

Extra Easy: 5 x Scan bran (yes, voluntarily). I have found them quite palatable with lashing of quark and lots of halved cherry tomatoes or pickled beetroot. Am saving LF cheese allowance (hex A) to use in SW recipe for Meatball Pasta Bake later.

Had a large unexplained gain how to deal with it?

Hi Tace That must have been so frustrating for you! This happened to me once when I was following a different plan. I had upped my water intake as all the received wisdom is that water helps AND I had upped my exercise. I leapt onto the scales expecting a good loss and was hit with a huge...

First weigh in - Monday 23rd Sept

HI Suziesparkles Hope you had a good 2nd week? I'm just back from my first WI and I've lost albs! I am absolutely thrilled. Like you, I made sure I stuck to it, I planned ahead and shopped for my plan - then cooked what I'd planned. On Saturday evening, a group of us went out for dinner but...

First weigh in - Monday 23rd Sept

Hi Suziesparkles Wow! 4lbs - that's brilliant. Well done you! It's great to get a kickstart to spur you on. Mine was only my initial weigh-in on Monday so it will be 30th September before I know how I've done in my first week. Do you have any tips from your 4LB off week?

First weigh in - Monday 23rd Sept

Hi Suzysparkles Good luck on your journey! I had my first weigh in yesterday and it was quite a shock to find out that I really have gained a lot, but that's why I went! Hope you get off to a good start - let me know how you get on.

Extra Easy Days Extra easy only, how much lost,

I lose a consistent 1.5 each week on EE and that includes using all of my syns and eating out at least once, usually twice a week. I find it easy to stick to, even when travelling. I've done red days before and I think the losses were a bit better on it, but it took a lot more forward...

    Best plan to follow...

Oh, forgot to say. I decided before I left to Flexisyn my trip so I allowed myself 45 syns per day for the trip. I went heavy on the speed and superfrees when I got back and managed the half pound loss, which I thought was a good result, to be honest! x

    Best plan to follow...

Lucky you! I love Paris. I've just had 4 days there and still managed to lose half a pound that week (even with all the vino I inhaled, I mean, drank!) Breakfast, as Silvermaneuk said will most probably be a breeze - usually buffet style. Our hotel had muesli, lots of fruit, fat free natural...

SYNS - HOW DO YOU EAT YOURS?

This time round I've cut right down and wine and it seems I have soooo many syns to use now! I use mine mainly in cooking (eg reduced fat coconut milk in thai curries, ELF mayo to mash up with eggs, black pepper etc for egg mayo filling) and/or for treats. My favourites at the mo are...

    Extra Easy Misleading literature?

I'm surprised SW don't make more of the importance of the Superfree on the EE plan. Even the food diary leads with free then superfree then healthy extra then syns - I'd expect the superfrees to feature more prominently in that too. I noticed that my weight loss picked up and became more...

    Bigger loss in second week?

Hi MissyMahem Congrats on your first loss! Shows you understand the plan and are doing things right. I lost 1.5lb at my first WI last week and was quite disheartened as I'd followed the plan 100% and exercised, etc. A lot people on here recommended 2 specific things: increase my syns (was...

    HE inspiration

How about a nice greek salad using 42g Feta (HEA), 8 olives (1 syn), lots of fresh tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber etc stuffed into a wholemeal pitta (HEB) for a scrumptious lunch using, using both Hex (on EE) and only 1 syn?

    Whats for tea tonight?

I'm having lightly dusted haddock fillets (from M&S), SW chips, mushy peas, roasted peppers, roasted tomatoes and some mushrooms = Friday night treat! So glad I used the online syns calculator for the M&S fish as it's only 3.5 syns because the fillets are 130g each. If you use syns online to...

    SW website

The new search facility takes a little bit of getting used to. Honey - I found the syns for Sugar by entering 'white sugar' instead of granulated sugar. Sugar, white, 1 cube ½ ½ ½ Sugar, white, 1 level tsp 1 1 1 Sugar, white, 1 level tbsp 3 3 3 Sugar, white, 28g 5½ 5½ x

Emotional roller coaster - anyone else been on it?

Aww, thanks all for your encouraging replies and suggestions. Perhaps I was expecting too much of myself! Have just received an email from my C who has reviewed my food diary and says I'm doing all the right things with superfrees and free foods, so as you all say it's just a case of sticking...

Emotional roller coaster - anyone else been on it?

Hi Leanne - thanks for your replies. I have about 2 stone to lose, bit more if I want to be strict about the BMI rules. Might start counting my fluid intake more. I have lots of cups of tea (milk counted) but little plain water so perhaps that would make a difference? Also wonder if I have...

Emotional roller coaster - anyone else been on it?

Hi I've always exercised at least once a week for an hour or so, but ramped it up with extra jogging this week. Do you think the syns are the issue?

Emotional roller coaster - anyone else been on it?

Hi all Has anyone else been through a range of emotions on their first weigh in? Today I woke up feeling nervous, then got excited because I know I've been 100% all week, then worried about how I'd feel if I didn't lose. And that was all before I left the house! Went to WI and lost 1.5...

    Sooo not impressed with Consultant

If you go to group, can you go to any group and any number of times each week? Could you go to a better one, but still go with your friend on her night to support her? Or take it in turns? As Soccermom said, maybe the consultant had an off night so giving it another go seems sensible. Have...

    Extra Easy Quark?

To me, it tastes like tangy cottage cheese that has been through a blender! It's certainly not the kind of thing I'd whip the top off and lick the lid, but it is quite good when used in savoury cooking. :) I tend to use it to make a frittata - just mix it up with the eggs and whatever...

    Feel more awake!

I agree. I seem to have more energy overall. Not sure if it's just because I know I am eating more healthily or if there is already a physical benefit. Either way, feels good.

What was your inspiration to start losing weight?

Good reasons Bellatrix. Mine are far more shallow! I am determined not to have another fat Christmas. On New Year's Day, I couldn't take my own boots off because my fat belly go in the way and make it hard for me to bend over! I managed to gain over half a stone due the festivities and...

do you stay or do you go???

I've recently rejoined SW and have chosen a different group - I've been to a few different ones over the years. It seems that there is tremendous variance between the consultants. I completely agree that ultimately the responsibility is mine to take control and develop a healthier lifestyle...

    Whats for tea tonight?

Teriyaki salmon for me. Quick to make marinade using soy sauce, crushed garlic and grated ginger. Then stir fried with heaps and heaps of stir fry veg. Might add some noodles... yum.
