My absolute favourite soup. Any veg you want; Today I used celery, carrots, leeks, courgettes and potatoes. Tins of beans; baked beans, mixed beans. Passata, Veg stock. Dried pasta and 1 packet of fajita mix (about 3 syns). I call it Mexican Stew.
Good question. I have the actifry but only use it for chips. I tried doing chips without any oil and didn't like it. I remember I did meatballs in the actifry once but was dismayed at the amount of fatty residue left behind. (the meatballs were swimming in it)
Any help or tips would regarding...
Hey everyone
Well things weren't been too kind last year. I could only get agency work. Working for 2 weeks and then finding yourself outta work the following week is not good for the soul. And this is the way it has been until 5 weeks ago when I got myself a permanent job. So no more 'can I pay...
I joined SW 2011 and I asked about this recipe. Apparently SW do not recommend this anymore (the recipe I saw had red onions added). Which is a real shame because it is absolutely gorgeous with salad.
This is what I do at work (well...before I was made redundant!)...get those pitta bread rounds from the supermarket and cut in half. Fill with low low cheese, ham, spring onions, extra low fat mayo and jelapenos. I wrap it in cling film to keep fresh. Then at dinner I remove the cling film and...
Hi everyone
I have a couple of pieces of frozen cod. I have done the steamed cod thing with asparagus etc in the past but the family aren't too fussed (??why??), so now I want to try something different..any suggestions anyone?
Is there something like SW battered cod?
Wow!!..over a year since my last post. And as you might guess..I have put most of the weight back on :(. Earlier in the year (January) there were rumours of redundancies and the missus and I decided to cut back on our finances. After all we had a wedding to go to. So I decided to stop going to...
Pitta bread
Filling of ham, low low cheese, tomatos, jelapenos, extra light mayo. I make these the night before and microwave them just to warm up for my dinner.
I have been missing from here for a while. I have been attending SW every week though.
I am now at 12.9½. Last week I was 12.7½ so, I put on 2Lb this week .
I kinda had a 'this is getting on my nerves' week because I am just 9Lb from my target weight and I am yo-yo-ing from 12.9Lb down...

I missed last weeks weigh-in due to family issues. I went tonight and I have stayed at 12.11½.
I'm really pleased as I thought I had put weight on.
Tonight was a taster session. It's the first one I have had at our club. It was brill!!
A rough chicken and walnut type pate that would be great...
I have had a few serious family matters to contend with this week, so I haven't been able to cook at home....I even had to go to the local take away for my tea .
At the weigh-in tonight I stayed the same weight.
Just luck I guess, but I'm not disappointed. I thought I would have put...
I joined SW in August and missed piccalilli recipe in the earlier mag.
Can someone post it here please?
I looked in the website and couldn't find it. Is this usual?
How do you do this?
Hi peeps
How do you get all your information in the lower portion of your postings...like this from Kwise1 dated 2 weeks ago on this page (hope you dont mind K)

Hi Gemma
Well I seem to be in the definite minority here (nothing wrong with that!!)
I just felt that it had a silkiness I didnt like. A sort of cloying texture on the palate. Perhaps I just blended it to death?
Erm...didnt like it at all!!
After all the comments here I thought this was a 'no brainer'...just goes to show that each to his/her own.
So the next day,I thought I would try the sweet and sour recipe.
Pasata + vinegar+ splenda.....making a sweet and sour sauce...added peppers, onions...
I missed typing in the last few weeks weigh-ins.
So just to set the record straight...
17/Oct I got to 13 stone :D
24/Oct I gained 2 lbs taking me back up to 13.2:17729:..... I had a bit of a revolt against this slimming world stuff and I had chocolate digestive biscuits and crisps.....I...
Lost ½ pound this week at the weigh-in. I'm now at 13.2½. I've had a few weekends on the beer so I delighted that I'm still going in the right direction.
But I want to get around the 12.8 mark for Christmas so it's time to knuckle down. Tried a vegetable soup from a recipe that was given out in...
My daughter recently became a qualified nurse so we all went into Liverpool city centre on Saturday for a meal. The place was called Viva Brazil...and it was just fab.
Then we went to a bar in Mathew street called Rubber Soul. I drank far too much Guinness. Great times.
Anyway, thats me...
I stayed the same weight this week. I knew I would because I went to Liverpool city centre on Saturday for a party, so I'm not too concerned.
Ah well, back to it!!......losing the weight not partying
Hi Broadsbean
Been lurking around here and not really getting involved as I should.
I read your post and felt compelled to write.
I really feel for you and what your going through.
You said.."i use my weight in order to ensure that i do indeed fail. Then when ever any thing is wrong in my...
Went to Newcastle this weekend and had a great time. Amazing place. I kept to my eating plan as much as I could. A really nice good sized breakfast every morning that kept me going all day. Shopping in the day, and lovely evening meals.
Lots of beer throughout!
Got weighed on Monday and I had...
OMG
I lost 3 pounds on Monday and I'm now at 13 stone 4lbs.
That's a loss of 1 stone 4 lbs.
Tried one of the sweet and sour recipes here and it was great.
Hi again
At the Monday weigh-in I lost 1lb. So now I'm 13.7.
I'm over the moon. The value I get from staying for the meetings (as opposed to getting weighed and leaving...as some do) is immense.
This week we talked about our top tips. Things that we find help in our quest to lose the weight...
Hey Broadsbean
I have just come across your journal and I have to say I am amazed at how your doing.
First off, I'm a fella, so talking about losing weight isn't at the top of the agenda...actually its not something you talk about..period!
So fortunately, I can 'let it all out' when I'm here...
Hi everyone
I typed 'target weight' in the search bar but I didn't see what I wanted so I have started this thread.
How do I find out what my target weight should be?
I asked my consultant but he said this wasn't an issue yet...as I have a few stone to lose I got the feeling he was being kind...
Can I sign up to this thread please?
There is so much to read here that I missed this thread.
4 weeks ago I began at 14.8 and I am now at 13.10½.
I put 1½ lb on last weigh in so I need the support.
My wife went shopping last week and, truth be told, looking at all the clothes I cant fit into...
Hey Pete
Well done for losing 3½ stones. I had a poor week this week and put on 1½ lb.
But here on Merseyside we had the Matthew Street Festival. So I guess I can be excused. I'ts only once a year.
Hello everyone
I hope that this journal will become the inspiration to lose the weight and most importantly keep it off.
I am 53 years of age and my daughter is getting married in Cyprus next year so I want to look my best.
I joined the local SW on the 1st August
My starting weight was 14...
Hey everyone
I'm a 53 years young grandad and my daughter is getting married next year, so I thought I would try to fit into a suit.
I'm 5'8" so quite overweight. (That rhymes!!)
I joined Slimming World 3 weeks ago weighing in at 14:8 stones.
I'm now at 13:11½ :). How cool is that??
