How do I lose twenty pounds

Hi, Have you considered swimming for alternative excercise? I suffer from dodgy joints and have been advised by my doctor and excercise professionals that any kind of excercise in the water is good as it supports your joints by taking off the pressure and the impact. I do an aquafit class and...

    Hungershots?

I saw them in Tesco, but only in the bargain section - I haven't seen them anywhere else yet but was wondering if it would be worth tracking them down.

    Puggso_32 - In the 11s :-D

Hiya, been offline for a few days, but have just been catching up with everything. Such good news about your cycling and football - you must be so pleased!! As for your weekend off, you have been doing so well I'm not surprised you are giving yourself a break - you enjoy it! x

That is by far the best attitude to have BL. You have done so well and one small blip (that was out of your control) should not have an effect on keeping strong and positive!

    APRIL CHALLANGE

Sorry to hear about your Gran BL - I hope she's ok. Like you said though, no point in getting stressed about having a few days off SF. It's good to change things every now and then anyway so your body doesn't get too used to things. Maybe it'll work out well for you in the long run. You've been...

    decided to start slim fast

Hi jje1973, All I would say is please be careful if you are using SF as a sole source diet, as it really isn't designed to be used this way and you could end up making yourself ill. I know everyone wants to loose weight quickly but this shouldn't be at the risk of your health. Please think about...

Hi Everyone, I weighed in yesterday and lost 3ibs so am really pleased. Another 3 and I'll have lost a stone. I've got to keep that in mind when everyone around me is asking if I want some sweets, or a chinese take away!

Hi There... New Chap... Looking For Help....

Hi Chris. Been offline for a few days, but have been really interested to see how you've been getting on when I logged on today. Well done for going to your doctors, and getting some positive help. When I spoke to my doctor he just sighed and said, 'hmmm'! Why Weight sounds really interesting...

Hi There... New Chap... Looking For Help....

:-) Well I know the other slimfast bods have been really helpful with any questions and advice I've needed. Don't forget that as well as the shakes you can have snacks / fruit etc which I find helps me keep the willpower to stay off the junkfood!

Hi There... New Chap... Looking For Help....

Hi ChrisH, just wanted to wish you loads of luck with whatever diet you decide to go for. I've tried Cambridge Diet and SlimmingWorld, and am currently on Slimfast, which is working well for me, as it suits my habits. I've found this site so helpful and supportive and you'll find there will be...

    How do you manage socialising?

That does make sense and also raises an interesting point puggso (btw, so impressed with how you are doing!). I went out for a birthday meal to a restaurant, and although I tried to pick what I considered to be the healthiest option on the menu there was no real nutritional information anywhere...

That's such a good idea BW! I had an unopened 1ib bag of sugar in the cupboard and picked it up. After a couple of minutes you realise how heavy a pound actually is. It's amazing when you think about the fact that you were carrying that around with you all the time and didn't even notice...

    How do you manage socialising?

Thanks for the advice BL and BW - I know you're both right about the odd mishap. I just wish people could be happy for those who are trying to do something to become healthier and fitter, and keep their negativity to themselves! I tried Cambridge for a week and I just couldn't cope with not...

    Would it be cheating

Hi Nessa, Having done slimmingworld for a little while I can tell you that it really does teach you about healthy eating and learning how to cook the foods you love in a low fat way so you feel like you aren't missing out. Unlike some of the other diets it's not that restrictive on portion...

    How do you manage socialising?

I was wondering what everyone else does when it comes to going out with friends/family etc? I find that as long as I am at home or work I'm totally fine with sticking to the diet, but when I go to see family or have a social thing like a birthday meal I have no idea how to manage it. I know a...

    Tesco to stop stocking S.F.

Ahh, that would explain why I can't ever find any soups in Tesco. I haven't even tried one yet - just been having the shakes. Good job I like them! Looks like we'll all have to take our business elsewhere!

Wow - it seems like everyone is doing so well this month. I've had a really bad week as far as sticking to the diet goes - my little sister came home from Dublin for the week meaning family dinners etc went into overdrive! I've managed to shift another pound - somehow! To be honest I wasn't...

    APRIL CHALLANGE

Hi All, I have been a bit rubbish in logging on over the last week - what with working nights, and then a lot going on at home - birthdays etc. However I am happy to say that after my first week (weigh in was on the 2nd) I lost 7 pounds. I'm thrilled with this as I had been unable to get below...

    Question from a Newbie

Thanks for the advice busylizzie. I think I just need to get used to the idea of making sure I get all of my nutrients throughout the day, especially if my evening meal ends up only being 300-400 calories. I will try the food diary though as I think that will help.

    Question from a Newbie

Hi Taz, That's great thanks. Top tip on the Jelly - funnily enough I actually bought a strawberry one at the supermarket last night to try. Great minds and all that! :-)

    Question from a Newbie

Hi Everyone, It's my first day (and first time) on SlimFast and so far is going quite well. I did Cambridge Diet last year on sole source and now have what I call CD Fear, so the thought of a plan that doesn't involve revolting tasting soups and lets me have a proper meal really appealed - not...
