    Hello, I think you're in the wrong section. I get something similar when I cut down on sugar and carbohydrates, but mainly sugar. I deal with it by cutting down on sugar gradually instead of giving it up all at once. If a cup of coffee with two sugars cures the headache within half an hour...

    Got on the scales half a dozen times this morning and got half a dozen different weights from 12 stone to 12 stone 6. I knew they were inaccurate but I think I need to replace them now. My best guess of my current weight is 12 stone 4lb, 2 lb down from last week.

    Most dieters end up gaining weight

    I can well believe this. I've lost weight twice in my life and stayed at a healthy weight for a while both times, but as soon as I had a bit of stress in my life it all went back on again.

    new year resalution

    I want to get to 10 stone as well, or failing that to 11 stone or a bit less. 11 stone was my normal weight for years and I need to get back to it.

    12 stone 5 lb. Last week's pound has gone but I don't know why as I've been eating a lot. I don't think I'm going to lose any weight over Christmas so I'm just going to aim at staying the same.

    What is realistic?

    I never thought about it in this way before - that you have to lose 1 and a half day's worth of food to lose a pound. That means to lose 2 lb you would need to do the equivalent of stopping eating for 3 days, and to lose 4lb you would have to 'stop' for nearly a week. No wonder the body doesn't...

    This 100k step challenge is a great idea and I've just ordered a pedometer. I don't think I'll be doing 100k a week though as I've got a very sedentary job.

    I shouldn't think so, as they only talk about what the calcium in the milk does. Edit: I mean I shouldn't think it needs some fat to work or they would have said so.

    I just get fed up of being tired and sweaty and out of breath. Also, I don't want to get Alzheimer's, diabetes, heart disease and all the other things.

    I agree with Saveloy, 1lb a week is realistic, but it is slow going and easy to lose motivation.
