I have had a good week thanks Autumn, I saved most of my extra points for Sunday so that mother's day could be an enjoyable one and it was ;) I can really relate to the way eating rubbish all of the time makes you feel and had been wondering for quite a while why my get up and go had got up and vanished! Since I've been eating less crap and having lots of fruit and veg on this diet my mood has definitely changed for the better. I did read in the ww mag actually something about people who eat about 7 portions of fruit and veg a day are less likely to suffer from depression so it's worth giving it a go. Yes I like 'healthy' and 'less healthy' instead of good and bad. We need to train our brains to be more positive don't we? Well only 1lb off for me this week but it's still going in the right direction so happy :)

Glad you enjoyed Mother's Day!

I didn't know that about fruit and veg, thank you for sharing, I think that's a pretty good incentive to eat more! I feel like at the minute I really want to lose the weight, but I also would like to be healthy and feel good inside and have energy, so I'm going to try to introduce more healthy foods rather than foods which are low cal/low fat (although if course these can be healthy choices too). I feel like slimming world is giving me a better mind set at the minute, which I happy about, even though I haven't really been following it this week as I'm trying to do damage limitation from my less healthy days

That turned into a bit of a ramble lol. Well done in the pound loss, as you say, it's all going in the right direction, which is great!

Well done on the loss - 2 x blocks of lard remember - 9.5 off in 5 weeks is great!! Think we all need to celebrate our losses don't we? I hope for 2 or more pounds off each week and feel disappointed with anything less even tho' I know that unrealistic - so my next challenge is to sort that out (hard for impatient me!!)

Oh this is me!! I'm like, yeah il be happy with a sts(if I've been a bit off plan) but really that's rubbish, because I actually want to lose loads every week even when I don't deserve it, ha!

2lb off a week would be phenomenal, I think even if I got that one week I'd be happy lol, I've only had one 2lb+ loss since I started. But at the same time, I think I have only had one gain, which is guess I should celebrate too since I've been less than angelic sometimes!

I definitely think if we can get our mindset sorted that would be an amazing non scale victory!

Congratulations on the loss Sammyanth! It is still 1lb less than you were before - it is something to celebrate!. I what you mean upndown about wanting a certain loss, like 2lbs a week. Problem is our bodies sometimes want to take a break I think! It is easier to do a monthly average, or even a whole journey average to see how you are loosing. It could be that if you factor in all the times you lose more than 2lbs along with the smaller losses - it could be on average 2lb a week anyway!. I remember when I first started I really wants a stone a month! It didn't happen lol. But my Consultant was telling us a story about this woman who wanted to loose 6 stones in 6 months for a wedding. Apparently she was making all her needed targets per week until she went away for two days - she then lost a wee bit less. She was so focused on that rigid goal that she was disgusted with herself and fell off the wagon. She was apparently something like 3.5stones done. She rejoined later, having regained all her weight and more - saying it was the worst thing she could have done! So whilst it is nice to have goals, don't be so hard on yourself. As long as it is coming off, then you should be proud of your achievements. I think we add a lot of pressure to ourselves which messes with our minds!! All the best for the Weigh-Ins. I have mine tonight, and I am not convinced I have lost. Apart from my birthday celebrations I have been really good (trying to make up for the syns) but I just feel bloated I guess. I have had a bad back and I think the inflammation is what makes me feel rubbish! Hopefully it will be okay though - any loss would be appreciated! xx

That story your consultant told you is quite scary! I've had times where I've worked hard and lost hardly anything, and then thought that it wasn't worth it so binged, but that lasted not too long, it must be quite depressing to fall off the wagon because you were being too hard on yourself, I think that's a lesson to learn-we need to be kinder to ourselves.

Yes Autumn totally agree - you have a lovely way of putting things!

Allo, sore feet as just spent last 2hr's decorating daughters birthday cake for tomorrow. No chance of losing weight this week with this to eat!

Oh my word did you do all that???? I know someone who bought a minion cake from a specialist cake maker and it cost a fortune, that is phenomenal!, alas, I have no creative skills at all, so I'm so impressed by anyone who does!

Well the run did something good in that it helped me avoid a gain but not enough for a loss STS for me this week. Going to try and be extra healthy this week coming to avoid another STS next week. I've also set myself a challenge to run 50K cumulatively over the course of the month. Currently 5/50 done

Well done for the sts(although I know you wanted a loss). Check you out with your running goals, go you!

we shd all have some 'be kind to me' stickers for ourselves!!

Thanks for the support. I know that if I'm doing the right stuff it will come off eventually and I can see my body shape changing as the cycling and running tones me but it's still a little frustrating. Last time I was trying to lose weight was about 3yrs ago and it just seemed to fall off, I can't help but think being older is having an impact on the speed at which I lose the pounds. Have others found this? I'm going to allow myself my usual Wednesday treat of a flapjack so I don't get completely miserable but otherwise it's carry on as usual. Good luck to anyone else with a WI today Cat

That's a brilliant attitude, looking at the body changes etc, and as you say if you are doing everything right it will all catch up eventually.

I'm with you on the speed of weightloss. A few years ago I went from 11st 3 to 9st 9 in a few months, whereas now it's taken me three months to lose 12 pounds, and my weekly losses are slower. I'm 27, I don't know when age starts playing a factor, but I def feel like it's affecting me now-if only I'd known this when I was 19, talk about hindsight being 20/20 lol.

Thanks - seems to be slow but sure - grateful for loss after last wk's sts! How are u doing?

Yay on the loss! 2lb is fab, and a nice little boost after being disappointed next week, well done!

Welcome escapade! Good luck with your goals, you've done great so far!

Wow that cake looks amazing! Unfortunately I had a gain of 0.5lbs! I knew I was bound to have a gain at some point in time, but it is still a pain! It was my birthday and I did enjoy myself so I'm not too worried! Although I can't help but think I should have drank so much water beforee weigh-in - I had a really long pee after weigh-in that I swear was at lead 0.5lbs HAHA :). Oh well it will hopefully come of next week along with some more! xx

Haha I hate when that happens!! 0.5 isn't bad at all after birthday celebrations!

we shd all have some 'be kind to me' stickers for ourselves!!

That's so true! I bought a little bracelet off eBay a while back which is all little beads shaped in different types of fruit, and it has 'patience' spelled out on it, I really need to wear it again to remind me il get there eventually!

Aww that's a nice thing to say!

Sneaky weigh in this morning shows 0.25 off. I'd really love that to be a 1 come tomorrow but we will have to see, I did some cardio last night and was sweating like a pig and quite sore today, so maybe I'm holding water, we shall see!

Ive stopped giving myself monthly goals now for that exact reason, hence the longer term goal. I eat the same pretty much every week, one week I'll lose 1lb and then suddenly lose 5lbs.

I originally lost all my weight doing food replacement but if I had a weekend off plan, still eating healthy but just eating food, I could gain 5lbs in 1 weekend! That would send me into a spiral of feeling down on myself and I would struggle to get back on it for the whole week, the gain would grow, my will power would melt away and before I knew it I would have gained a stone within a couple of weeks, this time I have been having the odd day where I haven't been fantastic but Ive been learning how to pull it back without doing too much damage and just by doing that I've managed to lose 14.5lbs in 6 weeks. Before I would set myself a monthly weight loss goal of 14lbs every month, if I lost 12lbs in a month in my mind I had failed and it just made me yoyo like crazy.

Now if I know Im having a dinner that isn't that great, I will make sure I do some exercise and eat extra healthy for breakfast and lunch so I don't go over my calories, or if I have a whole day that isn't fantastic, I will cut back calories for the rest of the week so my weekly average calories is what it should be. So hopefully I will be able to maintain better once I get back to goal weight, I have also raised my goal weight as for me to maintain 9stone, it was just too few calories, I couldn't do it but then I did go back to eating after pretty much starving myself and refusing myself everything for months so I did go a bit OTT with eating all the things I had craved, now I have it but have to cut back other stuff.

If anyone is really struggling with yo-yoing take some time and go on youtube and listen to some videos that explains calories and fitness in general and read some proper articles, not magazines about celeb weight loss hehe, I found that really helped me get my head around what my body needed and why I was struggling and so far I've lost every week, not always huge loses but on average I have lost 2.4lbs every week, it took me a while to get my head around I could lose that amount of weight while actually eating!

Hi - I lost 2 this week - well done to those who've had good losses - keep at it to those that haven't and good luck to those who are WI later on!

Well done upndown, that is a fab loss this week!

Good luck for a biggish loss next week. I think 0.5lb gain is good really considering you were able to enjoy yourself on your birthday. Happy Belated Birthday btw :)

Thanks Autumn. It's great to hear how much sw seems to be suiting you at the moment. You sound so positive about it. It looks like you made the right decision in changing your diet. Good luck for tomorrow!
