2014 weight loss challenge

Just had to share with everyone cause I'm do proud of myself, I just ran my first 10K in over 2 years. This is such a huge none weight loss marker for me I'm actually really emotional. Whatever happens WI wise this week I know I'm on the right path

Hello all, sheepishly returning after a 4 day choc fest and 3.4lb gain lol

So time for a fresh start, I expected at least half a stone gain with all the planned food so I got off lightly really.

Today I am all planned out for a 1250 cals day (slimfast and cal counting as before) before exercise and currently feeling a little sick of chocolate so hopefully get a good first week loss.

11 weigh-in's until we go away at the end of June and I have set myself a target of 14lb by then. Hoping I can smash it and lose more but 14lb definitely doable!

Please keep kicking my butt - I NEED IT!

I will try and get back on pilates wagon as well this week....of course I planned to do it today and will give it a go but cleverly wrenched my neck flinging head forward to put hair in towel after a shower this morning...DOH!

We all have weak moments and good god is easter the best time to have one. A 3lb gain is nothing i went away with family last year for a fortnight and put on 2st 2lb haha.

Im doing slimfast and ww so ill be with you every step of the way!! :)

Lolololol ! Aye, a wee bit TOO good, autumn ! My dining room is literally crammed with chocolate thanks to the three girls ! I mean it's not mine to eat, but it's hard not to nick a bit when it's just sat there !! Did you ?

sorry, i missed this before. I had a nice Easter thank you, didn't really do much but the weather was lovely. I put my name down to do overtime today (I think England get Good Friday and Easter Monday?we get Monday and Tuesday in Northern Ireland) so I woke up today kicking myself for volunteering, but then the weather ended up being crap anyway so I was glad I went in!

Know exactly where ur coming from - but not sure what to suggest - if u can eat away from OH that could get u off the starting block eh? Then u might be able to come up with a longer term plan?

I think we've said b4 that it's hard to get back on plan but so easy to come off - yet when 'I'm in the groove' I'm fine - probably need to see a shrink!!

I'm beginning to lose it too - over the weekend we've been walking and cycling and sorting out the garden so we've been busy & eaten out a fair bit - & planned the rest of the meals THEN - late on Sat night I started picking and picking ...............and have struggled since.

So decided I'm going back to class - that wasn't part of the plan - but don't want to start gaining and in theory I cd get to target in a couple of months now - but in all my years of dieting the only time I got to target was years ago when I went to my first slimming club!!!!

I think I probably should too but I don't have the money and I hate classes lol, but I do find it harder to get complacent when someone else weighs you! Today is my first day back on plan and eating separately from oh, and I've been 100percent which is good considering I grabbed what looked like a healthy lunch but which ended up being 10.5 syns!i weigh next Wednesday but to be honest I'm just doing damage limitation this week to try and undo as much of my gain as possible, which is a bit depressing! I should be 10st 7 this week but will be closer to 11 stone, talk about taking the scenic route lol

Although as it is Easter I have eaten my body weight in chocolate & all the rest of the junk.

Actually cant wait to get back on plan tomorrow

hiya, you sound so motivated, love it! Your goal sounds very realistic, I could be doing with butt kicking myself! Trying to do Pilates most nights but to be honest I've been lucky to get 15-20 minutes done, but I suppose it's better than nothing! Hope your neck is ok, I swear I'm going to whack my head off the bath/wall/door the way I fling it to put a towel round my hair lol

My total is definitely not 12.5 pounds lost anymore, but it will wait til next we'd to see what the damage is lol

I will set a new goal for may 14th as im off to london with my mom for 2 days then and it will be nice to know im 2 stones lighter than i was last time i went down x

I been going to Slimming World since January and stuck to the plan but found the weight loss a bit slow so decided to try Calorie Counting instead and to be honest have lost weight quicker . But I'm now thinking of giving the SW plan a try again my only problem is after doing CC I'll probably be having more in terms of calories with all the " free " food . Need to sort myself out I like SW but the portion control is a bit of a problem and find myself eating for the sake of it and end up becoming more hungry :( as a result ! Has anyone swapped and managed a loss ? I was thinking it may take a couple of weeks for any loss to show . Hope this post makes sense ! I weigh in tomorrow and will be a miracle if I loose anything this week hope I can sort myself out and get on with it . Thanks lovelies x

Hi kats,

Im a ww member but used to do slimming world. I found the free foods allowed me to overindulge and my portion sizes were always far too big. I tried cc aswell and it worked better but i personally have found that only ww has really helped me lose any weight. On sw i lost 5lb but put 2st back on from over eatting and kidding myself that it was ok to have 3 packs of pasta n sauce because it was free. I dunno if this helps you at all. Probably not as its a totally different plan haha but its what i found worked for me when i was in the same boat x

Hi - I know what u mean - and yes I've swapped and lost - I've tried and retried loads of diets but always find I turn back to SW. I agree it's easier to eats lots on SW and remain on plan - but (forgive me if I sound like a preacher! Just trying to help!) if u follow the SW rules it does reduce the amount of calories u eat but the counting is done for u.

SW have created the EE, Red, Green and Success Express plans to make losing weight flexible and suitable for as many ppl as poss - but there'll be some ppl only needing to lose say 7lbs whilst others need to lose many stones - so we all have to consider how we can work with the plans - for instance:-

I've heard many ppl say that u can each as much as u like on SW - that's no quite right - the rule is that we eat enough to satisfy our appetites - I used to struggle with that but now I have a hot drink after each meal - I find it fills me up and I wait about 20 mins and if I'm really hungry - I eat more. (Of course I'm no saint and I don't manage to do this all the time - check out my sign in name - just passing on what's worked for me!)

Another rule that we sometimes 'forget' is that whenever we eat - we shd have 1/3 of superfree food on our plates and they suggest that superfree shd be our first choice between meals too - cos that way we'll be filling ourselves up on very low cal food.

Like u I've struggled with portion control- bet many here have too - but when I started following SW's 7 day menu plans from the website (u can access those - even if ur not a member) or buy their mags - I found the food was filling and I started to enjoy it and cos I was really fed up of losing/gaining all the time wanted to get to target this time.

I've learnt a lot from others here and I think the best tip I've had - was to write out the meals for the week - just a list of 7 b'fasts, lunches and teas with a few bits for snacks - then do the weekly shop - it helped me to be more organised and got into the routine of cooking appetising meals for the family - again lots of ideas for things like SW burgers, choc brownies, scotch eggs, soups, curries, pizzas etc.

I find reading ppl's food diaries is good too. If ur struggling with anything, just post a question - I find that the lovely ppl here are happy to help and have often had a similar query/problem in the past - good luck with whichever way to decide to lose the weight - sorry for the L-O-N-G post!!
