Extra Easy 5:2

    Has anyone tried doing the 5:2 diet alongside slimming world? So two days fasting and then rest if the days following the slimming world plan?

    Why would you do that?! Why starve for 2 days when you can eat plenty 7 days a week following SW??

    There's a diary floating around by CheekyChinchilla who's trying it at the moment, I'm following her at the moment as considering it when my weight loss starts to slow down. I think 5:2 really works for some people, and slimming world is a healthy eating plan, so I can't see why the two together wouldn't speed up your losses. Realistically not everyone is happy with the rate they lose weight on Slimming World alone, if you have the will-power to try it with 5:2 rather than doing 5:2 with a normal probably worse for you daily eating plan then good luck! I think I'd struggle, but I'd be willing to give it a go!

    Because I've lost 6 stone in weight already and I've been struggling for past year to lose final stone. So I'm looking to stick to the healthy eating of slimming world but also speed up my weight loss

    I tried 5:2 alongside SW and it was a total disaster. I felt SO deprived from my two days of not eating that I just went mad on the free foods and syns on the days I could eat and I gained tons of weight with it. Back 100% SW now and much happier!

    Maybe I could try full slimming world 5 days and then 2 success express days?

    Try whatever you feel will work for you Hun, I think a lot of people feel deprived on fast days and then binge, but if you think you can resist then go for it. Have you tried doing a couple of success express weeks? That might just be the bump in the right direction you need.

    Try success express instead of the 5:2, there's nothing to gain by practically starving yourself for two days.

    Whilst in theory I agree with this, if it sped up her losses it would benefit her, there are apparently a number of health benefits associated with the 5:2. Of course, I love food, that's the reason I'm big, so starving for 2 days would suuuucckkk for me, but you don't have to do it on 2 consecutive days, and you'd be amazed with what you can with 500 calories.

    I've known people that have done this diet and i suppose yeah it is each to their own. I just couldnt stand the thought of living off lettuce for 2 days like my mum did. Crazy. My best friend did the juice + for 7 days, lost 7lb but looked close to passing out at the end. SW all the way for me :)

    I know if definitely doesn't work for some people! I hate lettuce, but I think I could come up with some really tasty ideas for 500...though not sure how filling it'd all be!

    Yeah, i need food that's all I can say and can happily boast about success express. Used it a couple of times when I need that extra couple of lbs loss for an event etc. If you can figure out some tasty ideas for 500 that will keep us full, please share! :)

    This 5:2 has been asked about time and time again in conjunction with slimming world. I cannot think why anyone would want to mix a tried and trusted plan with something else, it's like doing weightwatchers and having two days of slimfast......why??

    You have done phenomenally well losing 6 stone!! You have proved it works, but I understand the last bit of weight to come off is usually the hardest. I understand you want to get where you want to be as quick as possible but the best way is to stick with SW. Try success express. Try other days, Red or Green if you're on EE. Start exercising or if you already do, increase the level you work at. You can do this, try not to put too much focus on the last stone, break it down into smaller goals which will seem that bit easier to achieve. Good luck with everything and stay positive :)

    I tried it, but trying to go a day on 500 cals was MISERABLE for me! Therefore I couldn't stick it long enough to see any results. Good luck though!
