Abi's weightloss diary - post jaw surgery

of course not :D i run out of things to read. i read far too fast and within a week or two i've forgotten it. it's why my books are reread so many times :D

ive re read harry potter so many times it's untrue:p when i was a kid i used to stay up and pretty much read a book a night so all my books kept on being re read. especially the lion the witch and the wardrobe, what katy did, a little princess and charlotte's webb. the fact that i knew what happened in them didn't even make the experience any less enjoyable, how strange...

i used to love reading mary poppins again and again. and i still reread all the harry potter books. i keep promising myself that one day i will buy a box set that looks smart for my bookshelf because the others are in tatters... ha.

I loved the lion the witch and the wardrobe ... and bought the collection in a lovely box for my kids - ungrateful brats never read them ... but I have a few times and the set looks great on my bookshelf too!

Dont blame you abz, i love curling up in bed with a book, i have my candle on my bedside table and im normally reading something by patricia scanlan.

hmm. i just posted and it hasn't appeared. oh well. what i was saying was that it really surprised me, reading the lion the witch and the wardrobe as an adult, the religious implications involved. which i totally didn't spot as a child!!

wicked, based on the life of the witch in the wizard of oz has been strongly recommended to me so i'm going to have to read that soon i think :)

oh went to watch this at theatre in London and it was wicked i definatley recommend it

one of my best mates did too... and she keeps going on and on and on and on about it :D so it must be good :)

wow what a strange concept - a play on the life of the witch in the wizard of oz! i've never heard of it! you say it's in book form eh?...interesting... i may well have to read that. however, im reading catch 22 first, i've been dying to read that for 4 years and i keep picking up other books and leaving that one for next time haha. x

the book came first hon. and they've made a musical of it i believe?? there's a whole series of them and they are seperate to the wizard of oz series. but apparently they are amazing. so it's my next venture methinks, after i've gotten the trashy detective novels out of my system :D

well chaps i went out last night. it was more of an 810 evening than an ss+ evening, which i suspected it might be. i had some chicken and a little bit of pork and some salad. so hopefully i didn't kick myself out of ketosis. and if i did i should be back in it by tomorrow. i seem to have gained 2lbs overnight and i didn't even eat that much food so i can't have been drinking enough water so hopefully with lots of glugging that will be gone by tomorrow too :)

my back is really really really hurting me today. it's been a while since i had a bad back day. i'm wondering if it's the walking i'm doing. an hour on wednesday, an hour and a half on thursday and i walked around town for an hour yesterday on my lunch break. it isn't as if it's strenuous though. i have probably just slept badly on it or something?

we are going to view a couple of houses this afternoon. i'm rather looking forward to that. and then we are going to matalan to look for winter coats :)

how are you guys this morning?

abz xx

Sorry to hear your back is causing you grief - back pain is the worst :hug9: Let me know what coats you get from Matalan, they have some lovely ones available.

thanks dq, sciatica is trying to get at me. i can feel the twinge in my foot. i'm going to have to take it easy today :)

feel like i could just fall asleep. i'm soooo tired. it's so unfair that i can't... waaaagh.

early night for me tonight i think.

well guys. went to see some houses yesterday. one was a no go thanks to a naff garden. the other one had no kitchen. at all.. ha. it had a pantry with a sink and was about a metre square but has ooodles of potential. but the thought of doing all that work again is a bit horrific so we'll have to think on it a bit i think. it has the most amazing garden!! woodland at the bottom of it. in leeds!! ha. but it is more than a bit of a fixer upper...

going to see a couple more on the same street as the poor one on saturday so we'll have a bit more of a clue as to what's available then. wasn't considering one as it was more expensive. have now found out it has a conservatory. why that isn't stamped in huge great letters on the particulars with a picture i don't know. but it requires investigating.

hey abz, sorry to hear your back is giving you probs. best of luck with the house hunting what kinda house ye looking for? it took us ages to find a house we liked and then must have been another yr before we even got the keys and moved in.most stressful time ever!

don't tell me things like that becky!! we've found a couple we like the look of. it helps that we know the area we want to move into. the fixer upper one is such a huge opportunity but it's so much work... so we'll see. the location is quite difficult to get to bus routes etc which is what i need to investigate with that one really...

going to see it again with my mum on friday hopefully so she'll see everything that my glazed eyes won't have seen :)

Hi Abz - hope your back is better hun, nothing worse......As for the househunting - such fun! Although it can be stressful when you are in the final stages of going for one you really want, it's so exciting too.

You're one of the lucky ones that can see potential in a place (like me) as a lot of people are scared off by doing any work to a house.....but that's a big positive for you as you should get something really special that you can make your own.

I'm addicted to all the home improvement, DIY shows as I love decorating and DIY. I did all the decorating and painting in my house and even layed a semi-solid oak floor with OH in his house so am no stranger to getting stuck into home improvements. Happy househunting!

ha. thanks minz. well me and my best mate drove to it today and then went on a hunt for the nearest bus stop. since i can't drive i need to know that me and potential little'uns can get around and it's about a 5-10 min walk to the bus stop and then 10 mins into town on a bus from there so not too bad :)

i just can't decide whether i am up for a big doer upper but i think it would be well worth it. it just depends on what the others that we go and see this weekend are like. i like the idea of having a big bathroom for the first time ever, ha. and kitchen. and that's what this one with the huge garden provides... tiny third room. only any good as an office. but that's ok for the timebeing :) let's face it. it's going to be a while before i have more than one child to worry about :)

it seems so silly to be thinking about all these things, but i have to. even though it seems like it's so far away. i don't want to be selling in a couple of years again because we're starting a family. also, most people moving into a house that size will already have a family in tow and won't be wanting to have to live with a ripped out kitchen while it's done... so bonus :)

so we'll see. OH has cleared out a lot of his stuff today so you can actually see part of the house now, ha. so hopefully in december we can get it valued and up on the market so people can start seeing it for a chance at selling it in the spring or summer. the ones around here have all gone though as it's a big investment area for renting. so fingers crossed :)
