Can anyone please tell me if butchers minced beef is the equivalent to lean or extra lean mince?

You would have to ask them but standard mince is neither lean nor extra lean whether its from the butcher or tesco. Ask your butcher if they do extra lean or lean.

The fat content would vary from butcher to butcher, and possibly be different on a different day, depending on what he had available for mincing. The only way to find out is to ask the butcher.

Most have two varieties, you'd nearly know by the price, I always ask for round steak mince, it's the leanest and most expensive!
