Can I do it a third time?

Hi all. New to the site and thinking about doing CD a third time. Does anyone have any experience of doing it for a third time successfully?

The first time I lost four stone, breaking for Xmas and then failing to get back on it. A few years later I did it losing seven stone (18 to 11).

As soon as I started maintaining I fell pregnant and had bad morning sickness- so just started eating! Sadly I had a miscarriage a few months in and then just kept eating, depressed- and drinking muchos red vino!

So here I am back at 18 stone. I need a quick fix to stop putting on weight.

Am I kidding myself to think I can do it again? Should I just give up and be happy here? Or do weight watchers? Or something else? I now live with my bf and we cook a lot, eat out and I love my wine. Advice, please, lovely minimins peeps!

You need to ask yourself if you are ready to do this. This is my 4th time I have returned and never lost any weight apart from a stone before. Look at what you achieved! I'm thinking to myself, it's not like I won't ever have food again it's just I'm choosing to do this for a little while to lose some weight I'm 15.9 and want to try and lose as much weight as possible in 6 weeks for a little Girly Hol I have planned. I'm overall reason is to be healthier and happier! You have had the will power before. One thing I always think of is that the more I think about it more I talk myself out of it. I don't feel like this presently as I want to achieve what I set out. You can do this, I have picked this time as I have very little social occasions on and can give it my all. The few nights out I do have planned I can drink water. I won't be coming off plan! You can do this! Start it with the mindset that your going to give it your all for a month and I'm sure the results will spur you on! Good luck xx
 
I agree. If you've done it before you can do it again. I did Lighter Life a few years ago but didn't see it through and the weight crept back on. I tried SS last year but just wasn't in the right mindset to make a good go of it but I've started today and I'm determined to do it. I'm quite a big drinker but for the last few weeks I've been reducing my intake and I think I should be able to go without for a while. Like Vadey, I've specifically picked this time as I know I'm going to be really busy and don't have any going out plans. You can do this!!!!!
 
Hey ladies. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement!

My consultant has put me on the 810 plan and says I need to lose some weight before I do sole source. Which is fine by me, as long as I lose!

I started yesterday (Sunday) and day one was perfecto. This evening I was meeting a friend and she suggested dinner - oh no! We met at a tapas place and I was suddenly very grateful for being on the 810 plan. I decided to skip my third CD pack and had some garlic prawns, a few olives and vegetable salad. I know it wasn't perfect but it was OK.

Back on for day number three - which will be perfect again!
 
Day five on 810. I really miss wine. Dreading the weekend. Dreading making excuses about why I'm not seeing my dad for Sunday dinner at the pub.
 
Yes you can, its all about the mentally. Start positively and your journey will be positive..Ever read the secret? makes interesting reading and provokes thought. it declares that any thoughts and discussions which includes negativity shall generate equally negative outcomes. I know its a bit over the top but I really believe that any elements of doubt and negativity really do cause stumbling blocks and hurdles in your diet journey. Its so much better and easier to start from a place where you say, "I know I can do it"....and guess what....I know you can!!!

Hey liripip: well done! Three is a good loss.

Saturday was almost unbearable without a nice dinner with the bf and a bottle of wine! So much so that I had a large glass of wine on Sunday night with my chicken and salad. Bugger it. Can't hurt that much.

Back on it today! Booking a holiday for the beginning of July so that's a good motivator :)

Thanks :) hate weekends - i want to pick at everything but it's the wine I miss most of all I think lol. Although a few glasses would make me starving. I'm back on 100% now as of yesterday. Had a few days of picking at eggs and chicken. Want a good loss this week to keep me motivated x
