daft queation but...whats fromais frais?

Is it jus thick yoghurt?

Im going to make a mango and strawberry eton mess thingy for dinner and normally I use ff yoghurt but its a little runny and I fencied a changed. Ive heard people mention fromage Frais??(sorry if spellings wrong), could I use this? Is it free?

Any other suggesstions if not?

its made from cheese its a soft cheese

But it tastes very much like fay free greek yogurt in my opinion but cheaper!

Well yes obviously made from cheese as 'fromage' is cheese in french but tastes like yoghurt x

Yes it is free if you get the fat-free one. I get mine in Waitrose or Tesco. It really doesn't have much of a taste but is lovely in place of yogurt.

It would be perfect for your eton mess which sounds lovely.

If your usual yogurt is too thin, you could also try Total 0% or 2% which are very thick. But fromage frais is much cheaper.
