Eating every three hours

I am trying to get rid of my last stone and a half of weight and have come back to calorie counting.

My trainer at bootcamp has suggested I eat more protein, fewer carbs and that I eat every three hours. Does anybody else do this and if so how do you find it?
Hello I have thought about uping my protein on the days i go to the gym..! And limit my carb intake, how much calories are you eating a day then?
