I'm a newbie and looking for a bit of support!

I lost 7st on LightLife back in 2008/9 and now want to lose the 2st that I have gained since. I'm hoping that CD will be virtually the same as LL?! ...and also that I can go back to abstinence! :)

I'm seeing the CDC for the first time tonight and strangely looking forward to starting on the 'dust diet' tomorrow...hoping that I can stick to it 100% and get the fab losses that I have read from threads on here.

Thank you!! I'm hoping to lose 2-2.5st and ideally before mid October when I go on my hols. Should be do-able if I can stick to it!

I'm only 5ft 2 and about 12st 7, so I think losing that much will just about put me into the 'healthy' BMI range. I only ever got down to 10st 7 with LL and I didn't really want to lose anymore, as for once in my life I was happy about my size! Looking forward to returning to those days and the clothes that are waiting to be worn again in my wardrobe...hehe!

Its possible that you reach your target by then, I heard of people losing a stone a month on this diet. However the less you have to lose the slower your weightloss. I think I do 2-3 lbs a week. I just need 12 lbs to lose to be 22.3 BMI, but I can already see the losses slowing down.

I think your outlook is good. 'Just want to fell feel in my own body' is a great motto. I cant wait to waer all those clothes on one side of my wardrobe again! Good luck hun.

    What paln you on?

Thank you, it was a long 7 months on LL, but I don't regret any of the missed meals out as the results are great!!

Good luck with your 1st WI - always the best and really spurs you on for the next week! :)

Well, wasn't strictly abstinent for the whole time lol!! ...had Xmas and birthdays off! But i suppose having so much to lose, achieving fast results and the support of great friends and family has a lot to do with it!

Have had another 750ml of water and STARVING so am going to try a Vegetable soup.... so far, so good - must be losing weight with all the running up and down stairs to the loo! :D

Well I think you did amazing and stories like yours really inspire me as when you have so much to lose it seems a really daunting and impossible task. But it helps me to see it is possible :)

    Thank you MA x

The first day has been fine, pleased with myself that I have stayed 100% even at my trigger times: making the kids lunch boxes, cooking dinners etc, didn't even lick my fingers lol!!

It is so daunting when you have a lot to lose and I firmly believe that CD/LL are the best diets to shift the majority of the weight - I know in my heart of hearts that I would never have stuck to one of the more conventional diets for that long and wouldn't have been able to achieve the weekly results that help spur you on so much.

It's hard though, especially when faced with other people's 'views', socialising AND it can get tedious! I know that I didn't want anyone to know what I was doing when I started LL, i was ashamed I suppose! But this time I'm broadcasting it! Lol! I've realised I'm doing it for me and the end result will make me happy :)

How did you get on with your latest WI?

Glad the 1st day has gone smoothly for you and well done for staying 100%

Yes its harder at these times, i nearly popped one of my little boys sweets in to my mouth earlier when opening them for him, just out of pure habit - thankfully i remembered in time lol

Yes I think you're right, it is hard to keep plodding on when its a pound or two a week, even though this is extreme measures i think the strictness of the plan is helpful to me as i am less likely to break it if i cant have even a taste of what i like.

Well socialising is definitely out for me at the mo, this diet just isn't compatible with it imo...good job my social life isn't too hectic (phew lol) but its typical its birthdays all around me at the minute!

Did you find people's views really negative then? I have told my family and they think its good if it makes me happier and healthier, but not anyone else yet.

Good for you, there is nothing to be ashamed of, making the effort to confront it is to be applauded and especially on this diet as its soooo harsh! x

I had a few negatives from people when I started LL, people were worried it wasn't safe and why could I not lose weight the 'normal' way?! Apparently all I had to do was eat less and exercise! D'oh...really?! I don't think people understand how very hard it is, especially when you have issues with food!

I suppose I'm the classic emotional eater, eat when I'm bored, sad, happy, stressed - you name it! I know it's wrong and I'm not even normally hungry, but something always drives me to the cupboards, then you beat yourself up about, feel sad and eat more!! Argh!

I was hoping the CBT with LL would have 'cured' me, but here I am again - thankfully not to where I started at at 17st 5, but still a few stone from where I want to be and where I know I'll feel good about myself :) sorry for rambling!! x

Day 2: so far, so good, slight headache but have actually enjoyed the toffee & walnut shake for brekkie and just having spicy tomato soup for lunch - better than I thought!!

Challenge will be later when we go to the cinema for HP, will have to be very strong and run through the foyer so the popcorn doesn't lure me in! :)

Yes, i really think you have to have experienced the struggle of being overweight to appreciate how har dit is, its so easy to get stuck in a rut with it.

Ditto - i am exactly the same with my eating, any occasion!! Doing CD is really helping me to realise how much of my over eating is psychologically motivated because my body seems to have adapted pretty well and quickly to the physical side of it now.

Did you find the CBT at all helpful?

Well don't beat yourself up about gaining some back, at least you have only put some of it back on and you'll lose it again in no time :)

I hope you got through the cinema ok, thats brave on your 2nd day in! x
