Greeneyes will PERSEVERE.........

Hi Linda,

I just notification that my Beck Book has been shipped.

I am currently reading another book that someone gave me as a joke, that is actually very good.

It is called, Does this Clutter Make my Butt Look Fat. I am working on -- and have been for years -- to break my clutter collecting. I am sentimental, love to craft, always want to keep something because someone else might want it, it might be useful one day, etc.

I need to learn to toss stuff.

Anyway, the premise of this book is that clutter collecting and hanging on to excess weight, bad habits, etc. all have similar roots in our personalities. The author talks about how letting go of clutter can help you feel better over all and then tackle the issues that lead to your being overweight. I think it is good stuff -- in my case.

Linda,

I am sorry you have been having such a bad week. It sounds like the car trouble and other things are "triggers" for you. I wish I could offer you some advice or support regarding how to deal with stress, disappointment, etc. instead of comforting with food... but if I knew that I would not be doing CD to lose weight atm.

I hope that things go well with the weigh in and you are better able to "tackle" this programme next week. Here's to a good week and some losses.

I got rid of some clutter 10 years ago..........I divorced him :D sorry Jess to talk about your dad like that. Actually when he'd gone I decorated my bedroom and decided to de-clutter. I got rid of all the old tatty furniture that he thought was ok by taking a dirty great sledgehammer to the lot and smashing it up into little pieces. Feng shui wasn't the word for it. I felt absolutely brilliant! Still had a fat arse but boy was I in heaven :D :D

Hey Mel, I have had notice today that my Beck book has shipped too, they must be travelling together..... fingers crossed it turns up soon.

I actually think my triggers are things I am allowed to have, I have curly wurlys as they are only 3 points, pink and white wafers, 2 for 3 points etc and I think eating one of these things triggers me eating it all, so yesterday I ate everything that was left..... today is a new day and I have so far stuck to my plan, just having half a shake before I go for my WI at 7. Then will have my WW meal when I get back. So far so good.

Sunday in church someone had brought in a box of chocolates, well my downfall is the little cadbury creme egg ones, but you know what, I ate 2 and was so proud of myself for stopping at 2.... then I went and got a kebab for dinner...... doh!!! So nice little treats trigger the binges.....

I'm just the same. I usually don't keep anything at home and just buy in whatever I want to eat as a treat each day. Using Beck seems to work as I spend more time focusisng on it and find resisting easier. I really want to exercise my resistence muscle and weaken my giving-in muscle (a Beck-ism) so feel good about saying no to treats at the moment!

It won't always be this easy - Novelty is such a great thing - alas by definition, it doesn't last! ;)

Yay Alli...that's the ticket!!

Tut tut....negative fortune telling?? (another Beck-ism) you'll get to that bit :D;)

@Chels,
A couple of years ago I was telling a friend I hadn't seen ages that I had lost 60 pounds. She replied, "I lost 178 pounds of ugly fat." And, I was stunned... I said, "I no idea you had gotten so overweight." She said, "No, I divorced my cheating husband!" LOL

She is still single and has relocated to southern Cal after years of living in cold north where she was miserable. She is so happy and I visited her not too long ago -- we picked lemons from her front garden and made lemonade. Paradise, it was.

BTW, My own mother burned her wedding dress on a funeral pyre she constructed herself. It was rather symbolic... it was the death of her unhappiness.

@Greeneyes, Jess and Herewego -- I am an all or nothing kind of person. I do so much better with the CD SS type thing, because I rather have nothing than just a little. (Greedy, me thinks I am.)

Genius. Your mother has class Mel lol and your friend sounds like a woman after my own heart :D.

I am sure if she could have gotten my father on pyre that would have been her preference. They have been divorced for 45 years -- neither one of them ever remarried -- and they still HATE each other. What a waste of energy.

Same for me Linda, a little treat undoes me. Hope you find your feet (way?) again soon. xx

Greeneyes, so sorry you're feeling a bit unsure. I think I'd be the same with a diet that included my trigger foods, it takes a long time for them to lose their hold on me... and I am certain I need to exclude them from my diet as I cannot seem to learn moderation with choc/sugar. Sigh.

However, you know what is going wrong here and you can fix it... do the diet to the letter, be extra strict and ration any extra points, or try doing it without the curly wurlies for example... it coul make a big difference. I know you CAN do this. Sending a hug and rooting for you chick.

Morning GE -- I hope you are having a good day so far, and it continues. Waiting on Beck, myself.

But, I have the other book to read atm. So, I might work on that.

MM

Morning Linda, hope you are doing ok.

The reminiscing has moved from the 60s/70s to the early 80s now and Malcolm McLaren. Jess started it, she is going to Buffalo and Buffalo girls going round the outside happened. Guilty as charged :D xx

Feeling good today. Put on 1lb last night at WI but if that was all I put on then I am pleased with that.... especially as I dont normally eat my dinner before I go but decided if I was going to have a gain might as well do it spectacularly, in future I will always have my dinner before I go as it is quite late for me at 8pm to eat..... so got on the scales this morning and am 1.2lb down on yesterday, so really really pleased, incentive to stay on my porridge, shakes and WW meal today... maybe this is the way to go for me, unfortunately I have 2 weeks of shakes etc and then not sure how I will afford it after that, will see if this works and when it happens.... but so far so good.

Thought I would also post a small piccie of DH with Johnny Depp at Madame Tussauds last week..... ha ha You may have to lie on your desk to view it though, not sure why it loaded sideways....

Phwooooaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrr, like I said on a previous post...........no wonder you have 10 kiddies ;)

I can see the likeness but I think Mr Greeneyes is better looking than Mr Depp!
So glad you are feeling brighter Linda and that the scales are going the way you want them to! xx

Wow GE, ALL of your boys are gorgeous!!! Two little cuties there, and one big one!

Hope today is a good day for you, you can achieve a LOT in a week with packs to ease you along and a meal in the evening... it's a good start, and see how it goes after that. I think sometimes we rebel and take a while to settle into a plan, well all of us know about that I guess! The trick is to keep at it, not give up, and that's where minis makes the difference i reckon.

Have a great day chica - you can do this!

Awww they're lovely Linda!

Well done on such a sensible reaction to the scales at WI! It's so easy to panic when we see a gain even if it is expected! I had a wobble yesterday so am trying very hard to stay calm and focussed today. Am off to plan the day's food now. Hope you have a good day xx
