How do I convert a recipe to syns please? :help2:

Just looking at the BBC Good food website at soups (this weather justs draws you to the doesn't it :gen125: )

and there are so many but I don't know how I would convert them to syns.

If I put the ingredients of one below that I fancy could somebody please show me how and then I can crack on!!

Walkers wild mushroom, bacon and barley broth Serves 6


Ingredients


  • 200g pack bacon lardons or rashers
  • 2 onions
  • 4 medium carrots
  • 3 celery sticks
  • 2 garlic cloves , crushed
  • 1 sprig rosemary and thyme
  • 30g pack dried porcini or dried mixed wild mushrooms
  • 1 glass white wine
  • 1½l chicken stock
  • 175g pearl barley , well rinsed
  • 1 small head spring greens or chunk of Savoy cabbage


Nutritional info: 290 kcalories, protein 18g, carbohydrate 35g, fat 9 g, saturated fat 3g, fibre 5g, sugar 9g, salt 1.75 g per serving

If using lardons - shouldn't they be syn'd as they have fat on? if using rashers then free as long as the fat is removed
 
yummy home made broth for me tomorrow with dumplings ( made from cous cous) going to give them a try see how they taste as I've not tried before haha

Yes you are right well spotted !! Lardons do have syns, best to just use bacon with fat removed :)
 
no probs - just having my evening fix of minis and looking at threads ive not looked at yet and saw this one about soups, which im making tomorrow :D cant wait
