how to make breadcrumbs???

May seem like a 'thick' question but do I toast the bread and blitz or blitz it dry? Thanks

I cut my bread up into cubes then blitz it in a blender and add some garlic granules to it then I coat chicken/fish/mushrooms with beaten egg then the breadcrumb mix. xxx
