    Hi All,

I am new to SW and starting tomorrow (changing from WW).

I have the Food Directory but can not afford to go to a meeting at the moment, please can you tell me is there a way of working out how many syn values are in a food or drink which isnt listed in the Food Directory. I know that there is a calculator online but I really can not afford to pay for a membership.

    Please help xxxx

To be honest I've found nearly all foods I needed to know syn values for by googling so far. or by searching in the search bar on here. I just type ie 'batchelors savoury rice syns' and most of the time the answer comes up.

What Jackie said - and also the general rule is if there's no free food in it it's one syn per 20 calories. Do you have the current food optimising pack? If not there's loads of them going on ebay for next to nothing if you cant afford to go to class, just get a cheap copy there to work out what is free and what the rules are and you're sorted. (Apologies if you've already got all this stuff)

Thanks for the replies - yeah I have got the latest copy from a class I went to in March but then had to stop going.
I am a bit nervous about the change over from WW, but I just feel it is not working for me. I am eating so much crap. Do you think SW is better? I need to lose 6 stone :-(
