Seems very reminiscent to the Slimming World way of calculating things - ie not focussing solely on the calorie content, but considering how texture, fibre content and cooking methods affect how the body digests the food and utilises the energy.

Also thought this bit about Weight Watchers was interesting:

"Weight Watchers is proposing a new system called ProPoints, which it says is a more accurate alternative to calorie counting.
It's based on a daily allowance which takes into account gender, age, weight and height. All fruits and most vegetables contain zero ProPoints"

Sounds like Free Foods to me - SW has been doing that for years!

yeah i heard about WW and the Propoints and Living points - its just SW disguised i reckon! haha!

Yes, I read about this in the newspaper at the weekend. The new WW approach does sound a lot more SW-like! The article was talking about how protein foods take more energy to digest than carbs, and that WW's new points system would nudge the dieter towards proteins and complex carbs. Thought it sounded a bit like Red days.
