Is my little pooch pregnant?

My little dog Pepper (pictured) is acting very strangely ...

Fistly she has become a bit 'round' (although maybe she's just eaten too many meaty chunks) and she also seems a bit 'confused' and out of sorts.

Last night, she wouldn't settle and kept pacing up and down along the upstairs landing between my bedroom and my daughters. She isn't normally allowed on my bed but I let her up because she seemed so upset. She kept digging a nest, circling and whimpering quietly.

She also kept suddenly flicking round and licking her tail-end. She doesn't have fleas or any sore bits so i'm wondering if she could be pregnant.

Oh - and my daughter said she found a sort of discharge mark in Pepper's bed ...

I've made an appointment for her tomorrow morning at the vets - watch this space!

I know nothing about dogs, but just wanted to say she looks soooo cute!!!

circling around is an inbuilt sense in dogs and it goes back to days when they would of been in the wild and would of walked around in a circle laying down the grass for their bed to get comfortable.

It could be Anal sac impaction...Small dogs are inclined to get it.

Impacted anal sacs, infection of the anal sac, abscessed anal sac.

Clinical Signs:
Signs of anal sac disease include scooting across the floor; licking the area around the anus; tenesmus, or straining to defecate; biting or chasing the tail; discharge, swelling, or pain around the anal area; and behavioral change. When an abscess ruptures, a purulent discharge may be seen draining from the lesion. The area surrounding the abscess may appear red, swollen, and painful
