I believe to be free mince has to have less than 5% fat and so, yes I think it is.

Don't quote me on it but I thought it was only the Extra Lean Beef in the Tesco range that was free.

Ermintrude answered a question on mince a few weeks ago (above link) & the pork mince which is 6% fat is 5 syns per 100g raw weight so I can't think that 5% would be much less.

Yep it is, I buy it and the beef one too. It is very dry though so make sure you don't overcook it!
