Hi Everyone! And Welcome To My Food Diary! :) I'm Jade and here's a bit about me...

I started Slimming World 12th March 2012. I went along with my cousin who had been going for 5 weeks and had already lost nearly a stone! Our family has always been big, myself included. My first weigh-in I was so nervous, but everyone was very welcoming. I weighed in at a hefty 24 stones 5.5 pounds. (Actually less than I anticipated). It's going to be a long journey for me as I'm aiming to lose 14 stone! But I know MiniMins will help me along the way and this food diary will help myself and others to see where I could be going wrong :mad: ... or right :D

I love my food, and I love takeaways (can't beat a large kebab really!), but it's got to the point where I've had enough and especially when I weigh more than my age.. (20 btw :)) I want to be able to do what everyone my age is doing, go to the theme park and fit on the rides and go on holiday with my boyfriend without having to buy two airplane tickets just for myself :sigh:

This is the start to a new and healthier me! I WILL DO THIS!!


Progress So Far:
Weigh-ins are on Mondays at 7pm!

Week 1: Lost 11.5 pounds (half a stone)
Week 2: Lost 4 pounds (stone, SOTW, SOTM)
Week 3: Lost 6 pounds! (one and half stone award, SOTW)
Week 4: Lost 5 pounds!
Week 5: Lost 5 pounds! (two stone award, SOTW, bronze body magic)

Day 16 of Slimming World: (28/03/12)

Breakfast
: 35g of porridge oats (HEB), grapes and a banana (was yummy!)

Lunch: Tuna in spring water on a bed of lettuce, cucumber, beetroot, spring onion and cabbage.

Dinner: SW Sticky Chicken with Rice and Salad

Snacks: 4 Melba Toasts (1/2 each) with Quark

Drinks: Tea with milk (HEA), Low Cal Squash and Water

Day 17 of Slimming World: (29/03/12)

Breakfast: 2 eggs with Warburtons wholemeal bread (HEB)

Lunch: Tuna Salad with lettuce, cucumber, beetroot, carrot and white cabbage

Dinner: Chilli Chicken with rice and salad

Snacks: Apple and some grapes

Drinks: Water

Really haven't been feeling well, think I slept funny last night as I have had very bad pains in my sides all day :/ But still trying hard despite really wanting a kebab.. :'(
 
:wavey: hi I spotted you on Lily's diary, so thought I would see if you had one of your own

:woohoo: well done on your fantastic start on sw, you're doing amazingly well.

Have you thought of maybe searching for chicken kebab recipes for when you're craving one? Am sure you can rustle up a low syn (if not free) one :D
 
I've already had that idea! I went in search of a low syn kebab recipe and found a syn free one! I'm going to try it Tuesday when I go shopping next :)




Heres the recipe in case anyones interested:

Ingredients: Serves 2 (2 syns per person)


For the kebab:


500g extra lean mince (beef or lamb)
1 medium egg, beaten
2 tsp mustard powder
2 tsp schwartz garlic and herb shaker
salt/pepper to season
1 co-op wholemeal pitta bread (HEB)
4 tbsp sweet chilli sauce (1 syn per tbsp)
4 tbsp fat free greek yogurt
1/4 cucumber chopped finely


300g potatoes, cut into wedges, skin on
Salad to serve.


Mix the fat free greek yogurt with the cucumber to make the tzatziki and put in the fridge until needed.


Knead the mince and seasonings and beaten egg until solid and air bubble are gone. Place greaseproof paper in a loaf tin and add the meat mixture, press down to compact mixture.


Bake in a pre-heated oven (200°C) for 10 minutes. Remove from oven take the meat out using the greaseproof paper and turn over, replacing the meat into the tin, sealed side down, and return to the oven for 20 minutes.


Remove from oven and allow to cool to the touch.


Place wedges in the oven, sprayed with fry light and cooke for 20 minutes.


Using a sharp knife, slice very thin bit's of meat off and lay on a baking tray sprayed with fry light. Place baking tray in the oven until lightly browned. Remove and add meat to a wholemeal pitta bread, top with 2 tbsp chilli sauce and 2 tbsp tzatziki.


Serve with the wedges and salad.






I don't like Sweet Chilli Sauce so its perfect for me, can't wait to try it!

Breakfast:
35g of porridge oats (HEB), grapes and strawberries

Lunch: Ham with cabbage, lettuce, radishes, red onion, spring onion, cucumber and sweetcorn

Dinner: Jacket Potato with chilli (made with Quorn Mince, chilli powder, tomato paste and mixed herbs) and salad

Snacks: 2 Ryvitas with Quark

Syns: 2

30 minutes on the Kinect - Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012

Walked to Shop and back (10 minutes) in search of lemons.. they had no lemons... :'(

Breakfast:
2 eggs with with Warburtons wholemeal bread (HEB)

Lunch: Ham salad with cucumber, lettuce, radishes, red onion and beetroot. Served with a fat free vinaigrette.

Dinner: Vegetable stir-fry of baby sweetcorn, mushrooms, carrot, cabbage, bean sprouts and beetroot

Snacks: Apple, Banana, 4 melba toast with Quark

Day 20 of Slimming World: (01/04/12)

Breakfast:
2 eggs with 2 slices of warburton's wholemeal bread (HEB)

Lunch:
Tuna salad with lettuce, cucumber, red onion, spring onion, gherkins and beetroot. Served with vinaigrette.

Dinner: Wholewheat pasta with lean bacon, onion and mushroom with 1tbsp of Hellman's Lighter Than Light Mayo. Served with a side salad.

Snacks: Grapes and apples

Syns: 1/2
 
Day 20 of Slimming World Exercise: (01/04/12)

Walked to and from shop - 20 minutes
 
Day 21 of Slimming World: (02/04/12)

Breakfast:
2 eggs with 2 slices of Warburtons wholemeal bread (HEB)

Lunch: Kind of avoided this, was worried about weigh-in! LOL

Dinner: Jacket potatoes with 30g Cheddar (HEA) and salad

Snacks: Apple and Banana

Syns: 0
 
Day 21 of Slimming World Exercise: (02/04/12)

Walked dogs for 20 minutes

Walked to and from group
 
So today was weigh-in day.. :sigh: my third weigh in.... and I lost 6lbs!! Was so proud of myself as I worked really hard this week :)

Now this week to make sure the Easter Eggs do not call me.. :/ lol :)
 
Day 22 of Slimming World: (03/04/12)

Breakfast:
Mixed Fruit with a vanilla Mullerlight Yoguhurt

Lunch: Asda Wholemeal Pitta Bread (HEB) with ham, Kerry LowLow cheese (HEA) and a salad

Dinner: Seasoned lean steak with rice and a salad



Day 22 of Slimming World Exercise: (03/04/12)

Walked to and from shops briskly - 20 minutes

Walked dogs - 20 minutes

Workout on the Kinect (Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012) - 30 minutes
 
Hi Jade - stumbled across your food diary whilst trying to get some inspiration for my mealtimes - just wanted to say well done and good work on the plan so far - Congrats!!!
