As long as you selected the boxes that had their avatars in and the pictures went from dull to full colour and then pressed 'add' or something similar it should have worked. You can check by clicking on your own name and having a look at the friends on your page

hi julie thanks read that link this week has been so hard im going on holiday in three weeks so on monday when i go in to get weighed (i havnt lost any weight i know this) im gona start fresh how much roughly do you think i could lose befor my holiday

If you stick to it and depending on how much you have to lose then you should lose between 1 and 2 stone in 3 weeks.
