Hello! I've decided to make 2012 the year I really do this, lose this blimming weight. I'm 29 and don't want to be a fat 30!

I've always been big- I'm not one of those people who gained a lot of weight due to pregnancy or anything, I just started big and got bigger.

In January 2009 I weighed myself- 16st 10lb, which was a bit of a relief as about a year before my GP had weighed me at 21st! I started trying to eat low GI (was advised to try as have PCOS) and really exercise and lost about 1st 7lb in a couple of months. Then a friend recomended Rosemary Conley, which I'd never heard of, I joined and loved it! 2 meetings a week plus a fitness DVD or run every other day- I was so thrilled to hit 12st 10lb!

But all good things come to an end, and that was the point I was told my boss was moving house- and as a live-in nanny that meant me losing my job and my home:(. I looked for something else but was running out of options- so I took a live-in job abroad, where I stayed for over a year. I have never been so miserable and lonely, the family were terrible to work for and the loss of my support network and all the foods I had gotten used to, plus the challenges of living somewhere you don't speak the language at all.

It's now a year after I ended the job and moved home. I now have my own flat so my housing isn't dependant on having a job any more. Sadly, I can't go to RC any more as new job has longer hours.

Soooooo..... here I am! I've been reading diet books, seeing what would work. I joined this site a couple of days back and have already learnt a lot! I'm exploring the world of meal replacement with the hope of losing some of my weight then moving back onto RC or something. I'm considering anything! I'm not a serial dieter, RC was the first diet I ever did so I'm just reading everything I can get my hands on. Currently have a few Slimfast, Biggest loser and Tesco Ultraslim products to start and have a sample pack on the way from Slim and Save. If all goes well (well, if the shakes taste nicer than the BL ones! Yeuch!) I'll start either Exante or Slim and Save soon.

So thats me! I'm planning to lurk on all of the different threads taking in as much knawledge as I can about everything! My goal is a healthy BMI, I don't know what I will feel like slim, wether I will feel better at my ideal weight or bigger. Never tried so I don't know!

Hey hun, welcome to minis.
Sounds like you've had a rocky last few years. I'm glad you're settled in your own home now though, easier to focus on a diet when you dont have so many other worries at the same time.

I am on exante, this is a restart for me, and I've lost 13lbs in my first week. Exante gives great results, tastes pretty good and it great as you can order it online instead of having to go to meetings/weigh ins like some other vlcd's. It's also cheap if you buy the months bumper back and works out at just £26 a week.

There is a RC section on here (I think!) so if that's what you want to go back to then I'm sure you'll get great support, well you will no matter what diet you decide!
I've chosen slimming world for when I get to goal, their food always looks so yummy!

Good luck with whatever diet you chose. x

Thanks for trawling through my post- I didn't realise I rambled so much!

I'm only going with RC as an end diet as it's low GI, for my PCOS. Plus I can't get to ANY meetings with my newest job, as I finish at 7-8pm and most are earlier!

Well done on the weightloss! I'm torn between Exante and Slim and Save, I can't do one with meetings etc so CD and LL are out. Have to see!
